IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
I think it's definitely not worth doing it unconsciously, it's better to listen first, because it costs a lot. In my opinion, the differences will be mainly related to the aspect of synergy and preference rather than performance. Even if you want to get 10%, which is not so obvious, in my...- quaddac

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
If you hear a difference of 10%, I must say that in these circumstances, in my opinion, it is really a lot and I can only congratulate you. If you can't hear anything, it may be a matter of headphones... It may also be a matter of concentration, fatigue, mood...- quaddac

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
This is not quite the right assumption, although it is quite logical. However, according to Ibasso engineers, the elite is a direct reference to the 320 max. 260 and elite are completely different topology.- quaddac

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
Yes, iem and elite can be problematic, especially the brighter sensitive ones. On the other hand, I recently tried elite with aeon x and elite handled them even via se. I also think the Elite with full-size headphones is incredibly good.- quaddac

You are absolutely right, there is always the question of synergies or disadvantages that the sources may have. Fortunately, sources can also work great in chains:- quaddac

I really appreciate dc elite. I am almost certain that a slightly warmer source than the DC Elite (which is slightly U-shaped), with a slightly emphasized center, will release the mk3's potential in this area. Vocals (especially female) and brass instruments will shine, and the whole will be...- quaddac

Low, mid or high gain? I noticed that at high gain the sound is most balanced and even at loud volume nothing is sharp or piercing.- quaddac

Have you tried the D2 filter? I'm listening now with Monarch mk3 and it's great (I removed a bit of EQ in the treble area). Great synergy with the denon 9200, which are also bright headphones.- quaddac

From another forum: "Compared to USB, packet noise from an AES3 transmission is a lot less, therefore impacting less on the power supply rails. Cable length is 100m versus 2m with USB. The connector is far more durable than USB will ever be although the size is about twice current laptop...- quaddac

I think this is an attempt to implement a very high quality audio transport project. Anyone who has a DAP (or phone) knows what interference can occur. I'm curious if this attempt was successful. Fragment of the original description:: "The USB signal purity far surpasses that of smartphones and...- quaddac

I don't see the aes variant anywhere, can you provide a link? :relaxed: (Is it pure transport without HP out?) I read somewhere on the forum about this project some time ago. This is a great thing for dac/amps and dongles. Does it have global eq?- quaddac

IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator
A little interesting fact: dc elite performed brilliantly with DC Aeon X on unbalanced output (21, 22 out of 24). Unfortunately, I don't have a balanced cable for these headphones (I received them for testing), but the conclusion is simple. Great timbre, dynamics, detail, space, sustain, speed...- quaddac
