I had a hum as well. It turned out to be caused by another appliance I had running in my house. Somehow the electrical draw on the appliance caused a hum for me. Maybe if you have the ability, bring the unit to a different location and test? Somewhere outside of your house.

Mmmhmm, I pretty much plan on sticking with the 800s as it satisfies my needs very very well!

PC - USB Cable - Schiit BiFrost 2/64 - AMP - Sennheiser HD 800 S Upgraded the tubes to BRIMAR CV4033, it made a huge difference in sound quality.

The v222 did sound marginally better than the schiit, but not enough to justify the price difference. So yes, to me the v222 has a warmish/tube like signature to it.

I decided to sell my Violectric V222, it's on Fleabay at the moment. The difference in sound quality vs a Schiit Valhalla 2 with the proper tubes wasn't enough for me to justify keeping the V222.

Literally just messing around to see what it sounds like. It sounded like crap.

Question for you guys, being new to this hobby I'm still learning, I believe I can use my Schiit ValHalla2 as a premap to my Violectric. Should I match the volume pots on each amp or should I turn up the Schiit amp to max and use the Violectric to control the volume?

No, I should have updated my post. I cancelled my order and went with the Violetctric V222.

Finally got some time with my new V222. It feels like a huge upgrade from my Valhalla 2 amp. Any of you that are running Senn 800s, have you tried messing with the gain settings at all?

Just installed Dekoni Audio Elite Hybrid on my 800s. It's truly an excellent upgrade. I never realized how uncomfortable the stock pads really were for me.

Gentlemen, thank you! I originally ordered a Denafrips Artemis but cancelled my order and purchased the 222 instead. I also have the BiFrost Dac. Do you think 12" xlr cables will be long enough to reach from the Dac to the Amp?

Can the bifrost stack on the 222?
