I areturned the burson last year. The Burson has a noise floor and it’s warmer tonally. Overall it was a good amp but I thought the GSX Mini was better. More resolving and my headphones seemed to have better dynamics on the GSX. I’d buy it again in the future.

I've never had the HE6se, but at 50ohm impedance it actually will work with many speaker outputs on amps that have the 50ohm output impedance. I think I've seen some amps with RCA output at 50ohm and like 10-20W which is definitely enough for that headphone.

No way it's under $1000. I just saw all of those resistor ladders. I'm guessing this will be an R2R dac, but maybe incorporating some DSP? The future is good DSP in my opinion even if it's just convolutional filtering to achieve EQ. Probably just gonna be a very expensive R2R dac though.

Even using balanced, low gain is too quiet in my opinion. It's loud enough if you crank the pre almost to 100% volume, but I can listen at 100% just fine which is too quiet in my opinion. I think if you are at 100% volume it should be 'uncomfortable'.
