Advice on mid-end headphones for gaming+films
Apologies for the hugely delayed response. based off your recommendations and a few instore listens, i went with the denon d2000s although i am considering getting a pair of audio technica ad900 or ad700s as well at some point in the near future. i have also had a graham slee novo on...- kaderhashmi

Connecting Graham Slee Novo to Onkyo 875 - please help!
The headphone amp works fine if i connect the ps3 av out ie scart using the red and white rca's. but this defeats the point of the receiver as a source switch. So I dont believe it to be a faulty head amp just that maybe that the preouts arent working on the onkyo or that there is some setting...- kaderhashmi

Connecting Graham Slee Novo to Onkyo 875 - please help!
Thanks for the reply HDMan. I have tried putting it into stereo mode (and even plugged in another set of headphones into the onkyo so it should simply be passing out stereo). Apologies but I dont understand what you mean by changing the Aux/DVD etc mode - how do i do this?- kaderhashmi

Connecting Graham Slee Novo to Onkyo 875 - please help!
Hi all, I have an Onkyo 875 av receiver to which I have various sources connected and have recently purchased a Graham slee novo. I have tried simply connecting the novo to the preouts for the front L and R channels on the back and get no sound from the headphone amp at all. I have also...- kaderhashmi

Advice on mid-end headphones for gaming+films
Many thanks for all your replies. I have been considering the AD900 and it would be easier to power and therefore my av receiver should suffice. But I am still drawn to the bass of the 880 600 ohm. Following on from IDKs question, is it possible/ok to use my receiver as a DAC and use an amp like...- kaderhashmi

Advice on mid-end headphones for gaming+films
Quote: Thanks for the swift responses from you both. I understand the logic but i simply dont think my budget can stretch that far to buy an appropriate amp. Reading briefly about tube amps, their initial cost and replacing tubes etc is more hassle than i want to take on as well. Are...- kaderhashmi

Advice on mid-end headphones for gaming+films
will the av receiver not be powerful enough for the 250 ohm or 600 ohm versions of the dt880 then? I wouldnt mind getting an headphone amp but only so long as i can connect it to the av receiver. is this not possible? was considering something like the astro mixamp or would this also not suffice?- kaderhashmi

Advice on mid-end headphones for gaming+films
Hi All, I desperately need advice on what headphones to get for films (60% use) and games (40%) - no music at all. I am currently torn between the Beyerdynamic 880, AKG 701/2, Audio Technica A900 ( as i would prefer open back). Currently I have the Sennheiser 595s but am looking for...- kaderhashmi

Best Sennheisers for home cinema/surround?
Thanks for the speedy replies guys! Chrysoberyl are you saying that the 595s are better than even he 650s? - i thought 650 was the top of the range/flagship set? but probably not for games - how do they compare with the 555s? Best Sennheisers for home cinema/surround?
Hi All, I am very confused by all the reviews on which of the sennheisers are actually the best for home cinema. I am completely not bothered by music quality or whether or not the headphones are wireless. All im after is the best surround-esque quality from sennheisers. Ive seen reviews of...- kaderhashmi
