Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
Not too sure about recent update. I have sold my M3X. At that time, I updated it and I have not experienced the skipping issue. When I still have the M3X, I tried your settings and experienced lesser pop sound. This occurs only when I play music connecting M3X via USB to an external DAC. It...- phua

Shanling M6 Ultra - 4x AKM AK4493S DAC, Snapdragon 665, Android 10 DAP
It’s great that you are enjoying your m6u. I am looking forward to upcoming reviews to decide on getting one. I like my M3X when listening through the 3.5/4.4mm output. However, I experienced random pop when I use the USB output to external DAC.- phua

Shanling M6 Ultra - 4x AKM AK4493S DAC, Snapdragon 665, Android 10 DAP
When I use M3X as USB transport, I get random pop every now and then. I am using Denafrips Ares II. However, with the same set up playing the same music using iPad, the music plays well without any pop. M3X works well when using it through the 3.5/4.4mm headphone jack output.- phua

Thanks for responding to my query. I had an M3X and experiences with it was rather dismay as USB transport. Not sure if the download speed has anything to do with your internet. Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
Hi @Ferdze , I am connecting M3X using USB C to USB Type B cable to an external DAC. The USB output on M3X outputs digital signal thus as LunarLight mentioned, in your case you will need a dongle with DAC. Apologies for the confusion. *edit: I haven’t try using M3X connected via USB output to a...- phua

@Shanling I used exact same set up with iPad and experience no pops at all. Thus, I doubt the DAC is the cause. Using the settings recommended by LunarLight, it improves the situations a bit with lesser pops. However, I am still hearing them. Please advise @Shanling .- phua

Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
@Shanling Hi, I've had M3X since Feb this year. Every once in awhile someway through the track, it will "skip", something like what you will experience with a CD player, and there will be a second or 2 of silence before the music plays again. I will rewind and it will play through "skipped"...- phua
