Ive had to return mine because of the same reason. Clamp force has lessened a bit over time but it was still too much. Clear and Radiance are much more comfortable especially for longer listening sessions. So overall it will get better but its not going to be a night and day diffrence.

Ive had mine for a year and i can confirm and that some of initial criticism mentioned here applies. They lack the out of the box wow factor and they dont grab you right away. Mine were paired with a neutral source and i wasnt impressed with them so much so that i actually picked up DT 1990s...

I got my pair of fresh 1990s out of the box and to my surprise cables are a bit diffrent. Coiled one has 3 pin mini xlr and straight one has 4 pins. Is that the case with every pair? I tried connecting the straight one but it doesnt seems to fit all the way in. Gets stuck about 90% of the way...
