Thanks Yes I can't find the tall bottle versions only these but the price is a little quite high. I've bought from that seller before though and the tubes have always been in excellent condition and well packaged. Price + import tax is a bit much.

Do you have a link to the Sylvanias? There seem to be a few variants. I have some Ked Rad Black Beauty incoming as well although I can't listen to them yet as I sold my DAC. Soon though.

Enjoy it. After listening to Tambaqui and Dave the Bartók was my clear favourite of the 3. I miss it already but I'm very hopeful the MU2 will fill that void. I guess I'll unfollow the thread....maybe later 😜

I'm not an expert either but I have bought quite a few tubes and it looks like both sets are quite well matched with the list on the left the better/closer match electronically.

Oh by the way as you are relatively near to my area you can always pop over and compare them yourself before buying. Definately start saving though as the 300b upgrade (whichever way you go) is rather a large step up.

Hi It depends what your preferences are. WE are warmer tubes with a wonderful midrange. The Elrogs are a more technically strong tube with big extension top and bottom. They are still tubey but more solid state. The MOs are extremely impressive technically. I love them both rather a lot.

My favourite pairing with my Meze's. I really like the WEs with the Melz or Red base with the MOs with Susvara. However! Melz + MO was sooo spectacular with the Grimm MU2 the fellow in the hifi shop has determined he needs that pairing. It was unbelievable.

I should also add they are supposed to sound better in one orientation rather than the other. Of course the fuse goes in either direction but I believe there is a "better" direction. They do also require time to break in as well. I must admit I did think I heard a difference (for the better)...

Absolutely! I'm not suggesting it makes no difference at all but rather I just didn't hear it in my use case. I guess it has a lot to do with the unique circumstances related to each of our home power supplies. For some it's noticable and some not so much.

Haha I had the same thought when I put one of these in my DAC. It's in a DAC where you are supposed to hear the most difference. Maybe there was a touch more clarity but my thought at the time was exactly the same "well....it's certainly not worse!". :beerchug: Maybe my ears just aren't...

I have the 4-wire grand version for my Mezes. It's a really excellent cable. I have settled for a Hybrid Copper/Silver for the Susvara as I think this might be the sweet spot. The stock Susvara cable is hybrid too and actually really good although quite horrible to handle.

There are the Focus 10s which are supposed to be good but they are active. I have assumed active.

I have the Buchardt A10s. Those purifi woofers are crazy. Good for nearfield if that's your use case @Somatic but I suspect the Dynaudios might well be better.

Ah bad timing unfortunately for me or I'd jump on that. I have to (need to!) trade in a few things and upgrade to the MU2 which is now ordered. If it was in about 6 months I'd jump on it. If anyone gets a pair in the UK maybe we can get together and compare with the MOs if anyone is anywhere...

The Grimm MU2 is just ridiculous. I don't know what these Dutch fellows have done but it's magical. It's very detailed, seperation, it's all there but also with wonderful deep powerful bass which adds a lovely warmth. You just keep listening rather than skipping to your next test track...

Its pure greed. Shameful really.
