Elysian Pilgrim
A powerful source goes a long way with Annihilator. It is a very difficult IEM to drive properly. I run it with a Shanling M9 in turbo mode which puts out 920mW @ 32ohm. Which source(s) did you use with Annihilator when you auditioned at CJ? When underpowered, it yields a very "treble forward"...- Garney

Elysian Annihilator 2023
You can have the connectors on the LL Martini cable changed to ConX by Effect Audio for I believe $80. You’d have to send the cable to Singapore, though. Or try to find another cable maker that offers the same service. There are PEar to 2pin adapters available on AliExpress but they add some...- Garney

ConX does support Pentaconn Ear. IPX is a different connector type. You'll want the "Ear Connector" It shows as Pentaconn Ear Connector when you select from the drop down menu:- Garney

Looking forward to comparisons with Annihilator. Curious to know if they're going for a similar tuning profile or if you find them complimentary. I know graphs only give us a glimpse but it does look like Pilgrim is a bit more balanced than Annihilators U shape signature. Love the look of the...- Garney

I know it's a bit of a drive from Seattle but you could schedule a trip to visit FiR headquarters in Vancouver, WA to demo the Radon 6 (and their other IEMs) if you're really not wanting to blind buy. I've owned 3 out of the 4 Frontier series IEMs and really enjoy their house sound. The kinetic...- Garney

This has been my experience as well. Honestly, I almost always need to “adjust” to Xe6 when I first start listening to them, even after months of ownership. Genre dependent to a degree. Electronica and jazz requiring less of an adjustment period versus stuff like rock / metal. They do fill...- Garney

Lets Talk Metal
When I think of higher dynamic range and polished production my mind immediately goes to prog metal. Top of mind would bands like Dream Theater, Caligula's Horse, Haken, Leprous, Riverside, Porcupine Tree, etc. Most / all of Opeth's discography (Steven Wilson produced quite a few, then Jens... -

I'll +1 on Annihilator as being worth a look. The soundstage is not what I'd describe as massive, but then again I've never heard an IEM come close to the expansive "out of head" width you can get with open back headphones. I otherwise hear Anni's presentation to be close to what you're wanting...- Garney

1. Elysian Dio - most likely not a buy for me at the rumored ~$6k price point. But, considering how smitten I am (still) with Annihilator, I can only begin to imagine Lee’s tuning magic coupled with a custom spec DD in the mix. 2. Symphonium Titan - a deep reaching subbass shelf that doesn’t...- Garney

Elysian Annihilator 2023
Possible that folks are trying to sell while secondhand value and overall popularity are still high. Eventually, Dio will come out and steal some of Annihilator’s thunder (even at the rumored $6k price point).- Garney
