K-pop, J-pop suggestions!
I used to agree with this because it was the most upbeat track on the project, but now I'm not so sure. I appreciate the other songs a lot more than I used to due to how well they set a mood, how well her producers layer all the instruments and how Yukika sings so beautifully over them. Secret... -

This EP on my HiFiMan HE6se V2s is just immaculate. Moved this up to project of the year material :) -

Yep, the Ragnarok 2 slides from Class A to Class AB, but it doesn't affect me personally. The sound on the second gain is exactly where I want it, personally. On quieter recordings I have to use the third gain, but for most recordings, the second gain is plenty enough :)- Skylah

They finally came in the mail. And WOW, they sound incredible oh my god Everything I wanted from a headphone sound wise is in here... the sound signature out of the box is practically *perfect*. The technical detail is all here too. So glad I bought the Schiit Ragnarok 2, these headphones...- Skylah

K-pop, J-pop suggestions!
The new aespa is the dark horse Korean EP of the year for me. At the moment, both Taste of Love (2021) & Queendom (2021) are my Korean EPs of the year (and probably even projects of the year), but aespa's debut EP Savage is one of most exhilarating musical experiences I've had in a long time, if... -

Trust me, if anyone is interested in trying the speaker taps, it's me :p Is there anything I would need to do apart from getting an adapter? Like any ritual regarding turning the amplifier on and off in a specific way to make sure my headphones don't explode etc- Skylah

Hifiman HE6-SE
Saw a good price for these used (HE-6SE V2, very minimal use, barely over three months), can't wait for them to come in the mail :) You can see where my current setup in my signature below. 15W RMS into 50Ω should be enough for these cans, no? Does anyone have any EQ profiles for these cans as well?- Skylah

K-pop, J-pop suggestions!
Incredible song. I didn't want to necessarily send it into this thread due to the song having no actual Korean words in it, but TWICE is a Korean girl group first and foremost, so I guess it makes sense. It's their response to Dynamite by BTS (albeit a year late), but better late than never :)... -
MrSpeakers Ether CX - $899 from Massdrop
I honestly can't quite make out what I find different about it... I think it's more dependent on the genre and the date of recording and mastering of the track. With my small sample size, I find that more modern (particular pop and hip-hop) recordings are more well defined on the CXs, but part...- Skylah

MrSpeakers Ether CX - $899 from Massdrop
Yep. I saw a statement from MrSpeakers saying that it needs them, but I was already planning on it anyways. + coming from the T1.3 I need to get adjusted to the sound first, but I do already love it out of the box :) My used set does come with it! I was surprised there was even a tuning set...- Skylah

MrSpeakers Ether CX - $899 from Massdrop
I've heard that they sound remarkably similar despite one being closed and being open I would just assume that the differences are from it being closed back rather than a different driver - strong bass impact, smaller soundstage, less "air" in the sound etc but nothing major I can vouch for...- Skylah

MrSpeakers Ether CX - $899 from Massdrop
Reviving this thread to say I bought a used pair with very minimal use. I was looking to own a planar magnetic headphone for the first time, and I also needed a closed-back for later night listening sessions, as my sister and her boyfriend can hear my music with my T1.3 oops. Speaking of my...- Skylah

Her solo album tellusboutyourself (2020) is a contender for my 2020 AOTY. You need to get on that *now*. -
K-pop, J-pop suggestions!
I'm convinced Yerin Baek can do no wrong. This is her debut album in with Jimin Park during her teenage years. It leans heavily into the R&B and Pop-Soul sound from the second-generation of K-Pop, but every melody and arrangement just works so well. 15& - Sugar (2014) -
Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now
No, that really seems in line with my observations too. From my Objective2s to my Sansui AU-101 to my Schiit Ragnarok 2, the more power I give this headphone, the better the experience. My Objective2s are a potent amplifier, but with my T1s, they sound more congested compared to my AU-101s, and...- Skylah

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now
Does anyone in this thread (who owns the headphones) run these balanced? My Ragnarok 2 outputs 24W into 32Ω balanced, which is way overkill for drivers as efficient as these, and I'm not sure if it's that insane power this amp provides or it being balanced (or both!), but everything just sounds...- Skylah

Depends on how bad your walls isolate. Mine don't isolate at all - sister has to message me to quieten down my music later on at night haha- Skylah

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now
No no, it was a conscious decision I made on my end haha, but the Ragnarok 2 pairs well with this. Any particular sound difference that I would've gotten with the analytical pads seem to have come through with the Rag without leaving the comfort of this memory foam Beyer has made for their OEM.- Skylah

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now
My balanced cables, but after spending some more time with this incredible amplifier, this improves the T1.3's detail retrieval, staging and instrumental separation *even* further (the NAD M51 DAC is definitely playing a part here). There's an added air to the overall sound too, making lively...- Skylah

Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier
My Ragnarok 2 came in the mail - they sound a lot closer to neutral than my Sansui unit (even with the bass and treble switches on my Sansui AU-101 turned down and up respectively), and vocals sound stronger too :) I've yet to make my chain balanced, but I'll wait until next pay day. The amount...- Skylah
