probably best to ask Audeze.. Are you in a country with decent consumer rights? If not I suspect you’ll just be given the opportunity to purchase a refurb set for ~$100 by Audeze.

Agreed. It’s kind of crazy how many updates were discussed only for the last/final firmware to come out only 12 months after launch, and then the product to be completely abandoned 12 months after that. I’d somewhat understand if there was some sort of discounted upgrade path to the Maxwell, but...

It has been a while since i checked back in here, though i'm fairly certain i'm on the current firmware. Did anything ever come of the plan to add functionality to allow the Windows volume control to actually change the volume on the Penrose? I would still much rather use the volume control on...

I don’t have any scientific methodology for this but from my usage last night it did seem that I had a lot more control over the volume in the range I would normally use it at, which backs up the more steps theory.

To be fair it was very clearly labelled as a beta release, but the release channel was.... very poor, and the only way most people found to get it to work at the time was via Android, however it crashed out halfway through and left the headphones semi-bricked, to the point that they had to be...

Given what happened to everyone that tried to install the last firmware via Android it's probably just as well there wasn't an option for those of us with iOS mobile devices to try to upgrade that way.

This sounds good, but then i have to remind myself that this update was originally meant to be end of February.

Can i ask which geekria headband you got? I recall the original post about them mentioning the size they had requiring more force than they were comfortable with to do it up...

I can understand wanting to add voice notifications for changing settings, but i'd definitely prefer just a subtle beep for things like "CONNECTED" when wandering in and out of range.

Alright, well it's 11am here and i need to get on with life. Congrats to those of you with Android devices that managed to eventually get the firrmware.. hopefully the updates are great and the rest of us can try them soon.

Sweet, let me just quickly pop out and buy an Android device. I've been checking PC and Mac to no avail.

What a great system. Good thing the middle of a business day is when we all have plenty of time to sit around waiting for a small window that keeps changing.

One thing i will say is that when i applied for the beta by the time they got back to me they said they weren't sure there would be space for me to test it this time (as to why they are limiting the beta rather than letting anyone that is willing to test it test it, i don't know), and i never...

I've been relaunching the HQ but no sign yet.. i'm assuming I (and google) haven't got my timezones wrong?

So I love my Penrose, but it still has some usability issues that I have worked around (range, controls, windows volume integration), and with us now in March and only having had one firmware update I am losing faith that these will be addressed to make the headphones as good as they should be...

have you turned off Discord’s echo cancellation setting? Several people have reported the Penrose microphone sounding better with that turned off.

This sounds like it would be a far more comfortable for my ears. Are you able to provide some links to the things you've used please? I think i can probably find the Brainwavz, and i already have some nuggets for my top band but i haven't been able to find a link to the 3d printed spacers you...

A bit behind here, but i noticed on the last post about an upcoming firmware there was no mention of tying the volume control on the headset to the volume control in Windows. Can you please confirm that this is still coming @Audeze ? A month later and i still can't be sure whether i am about to...

I haven't messed with the EQ much yet, as until we get wireless config of it i wasn't planning to because like you i think i'd like to swap between Footsteps and Neutral for music. Are custom profiles such as the middle ground one you mentioned setting up shareable?

I am glad you have tested and found the solution you are happiest with out of the options you have available, and I appreciate your comparison between the Penrose and Arctic 7P, but at the same time I’m not sure recommending your wired, open back headset and amp setup is particularly relevant...

On the one hand I want to stretch mine out a bit, but on the other hand it already feels like the right pad crushes down so my ear touches the driver, and I don’t want to exacerbate that further.

Glad you have been having a good experience with them. Out of interest why do you use this combo this way around, as it would seem to me that music and videos would be better suited to the higher quality & lower latency of the dongle, while calls/chat shouldn't suffer all that much on bluetooth?

Yeah okay, so I have a Dream Machine, a FlexHD and a NanoHD, meshed together via 5Ghz but with 2.4ghz enabled on Low for IoT devices. I might have to try disabling 2.4ghz on the AP closest to my desk to see if that helps (once I have my hands on the headphones again). @Audeze any of you guys do...

Out of interest, are you using any UniFi/AmpliFi Access Points for wifi in your house? A couple of people with connectivity dropouts earlier in the thread mentioned they were and in my limited testing (mine are wrapped for the kids to give to me for Xmas now) I was also having poor connectivity...

I’ve ordered some Dekoni nuggets to try to sort out my comfort issues on top of my head and a USB hub and extension cord to try to assist with connectivity. Not sure what to do about the isolation/balance issue and presume at some point I’ll also have to order some Dekoni ear pads to combat...
