Interesting that you like the sound of this and not the Bose 700. They must havd worked around the sound with software and design since the QCU use the same drivers as the 700, at least according to The Verge.

With the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro on sale for $134 for the 80-Ohm/$169 for the 250-Ohm version, would I be a sucker for not checking those out? The DT 770 Pro Limited Edition are at $169 for all impedance versions, as well.

I would prefer an open-back headphone, but my wife's office is literally separated from mine by a single wall and our doors are next to each other. This isn't solely for her, as I want the isolation from her frequent teleconferences. I'll take another look at the ATs. Thanks.

I take it you chose the ATH-MSR7b over the DT-700 Pro X? I was looking at the DT 770 Pro, but people’s opinions on the treble in Beyerdynamic headphones terrify me. ATH-MSR7b has been on my radar, as I trust the Audio Technica name (Same for Beyer).
