I thought I'd try that too. Took out my SB Audigy, activated the motherboard sound in the BIOS, loaded the drivers, and after all that, the stupid thing didn't work. Couldn't get a digital lock to my DAC using either coax or optical. Had to go back to using a soundcard.

Little Dot MkV is amazing with the HD580. Find one used here and save some money.

Well, I'll soon have my hands on an 0404 PCI to replace my aged SB Audigy Platinum. Snagged one NIB for only $30 shipped. Gotta love the extremely rare occasion when Ebay comes through with a great deal.
