The bass quantity really depends on the seal you get. If you can manage a really tight and solid seal, the bass is very deep, accurate, and reasonably high. If you don't get a good seal though, bye bye bass.

You could try that foam repadding job with the 414 pads. Maybe those don't itch as much.

Usually, I use a tiny little brush for big work, and then a really thin toothpick for smd stuff. You just put the unmelted flux on the soldering spot and then solder like normal. It'll smoke and stuff, but it helps get the solder on and in the joint. Try google.com There are tons of tutorials...

Are these low profile when they're in your ears? With marshmallows, i could stick em deep into my ear and they'd pretty much disappear. Excellent for sleeping.

And this is the #1 reason why you shouldn't smoke. Forget lung disease, fouling up headphones is far worse.

Keep in mind that there aren't a whole lot of IEM's that have as much bass as the marshmallows, so if you like that amount of bass, choose your upgrade carefully. From what I've read, ety's don't have nearly as much bass as those marshmallows.
