    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I got my pad fine. Make sure to tell them you want the headband PAD instead of just the headband. Full headband replacement is expensive af.

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I ordered it from Sennheiser via telephone. One representative said it was out of stock while the other said it was on backorder. I told them to place the order and see if it goes through, but I will not know until it ships or I get a cancellation notice. Make sure to specify headband PAD and...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

What I noticed was that the sound seems fine until I jangle the connecting wires (Which naturally happens when I move my head). I reconnected the wire and the issue persists. Since it was second hand, I went ahead and ordered a cable replacement. Would pads that thick cause TMJ to act up? I...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

So my headphones came in and sometimes the sound breaks up when moving my head. Could the wire be the problem? I feel like I pushed the pin in enough to be secure. If so, any wire suggestions?

Unfortunate Which dekoni pad did you get? I was reading that it made the treble issue worse and that they're too thick so people's ears wouldn't fit in the pad.

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

Sorry, another question. Headband replacement? Sennheisser is charging $90 for it, but that is a bit steep. Will the replacement pads for HD600/650 work? I'm also ok with one of those headband covers, but I have not tried them.

Sorry for the bump, but does anyone have experience with different aftermarket earpads on these headphones?

Do you clean used headphones you have purchased?

Ty for the response! I'll look into whether the headband pad is removal and go from there. If anyone else has experience with this or suggestions, I'm still open to ideas.

Do you clean used headphones you have purchased?

I ordered a used HD700 off ebay and I am thinking about horror stories of odors and possibly gross earpads. I attached photos from the listing below. Any advice from people that have purchased used headphones before? My current thought is that I ought to replace the earpads and I want to do...

    K553 v HD599 in COMFORT

As the title implies, I would like to hear from people that have owned both the HD599 and K553. I have read that both are comfortable, but which did you find more comfortable? Ty.

    $200 Neutral Semi/Full Openback Headphones

After a bit of research, I think I'm down to Beyerdynamic T90, HD598, and K553. Do you have any experience with the other two headphones? I'm hearing great reviews about the HG598 soundstage, mids, highs, and comfort.

    $200 Neutral Semi/Full Openback Headphones

Hey, I'm the same poster lol. I decided to just change headphones since I think it's a bad fit for me. I just don't know which headphone would be the closest match to it and be more comfortable.

    $200 Neutral Semi/Full Openback Headphones

How do you feel the clamping force of the HE400 is? I really liked the K240, but I think the sound signature is not what I'm looking for. I've heard mixed things about the HE400 soundstage -- probably because it gets compared to different things. I hear it's larger than HD600 but smaller than HD598.

    $200 Neutral Semi/Full Openback Headphones

I'll take a look at those when back home. I was previously looking into those, hd598, he400i, akg 240studio, and akg k553. Any idea what to add to the list/experience with those?

    $200 Neutral Semi/Full Openback Headphones

After looking into it, I want to thank you for opening my eyes to the HD 598. I'm just out in the wild thinking HD650 were defacto better, for my needs, than the HD598. I'm still open for suggestions, but I really like what I'm seeing about the HD 598.

    $200 Neutral Semi/Full Openback Headphones

How do those compare to HD6XX in comfort? I'm probably stretching the limit of my Amazon return rate at this point, so I want to make sure I get it "right" on the next buy. Ty for your help!

    $200 Neutral Semi/Full Openback Headphones

I have the AKG K702 (Without the bumps) right now. I may end up returning them if I am unable to make them comfortable in the next few days. I will not pretend to know audiophile terminology well, but I will try my best to outline my wants. Sound: I really enjoyed the sound signature of AKG...

I need help making the AKG K702 comfortable

I tried it with the proper orientation and I feel the pressure on my jaw. I'm still not sure if the asymmetry or the general width of the pad causes the pain, but I feel it for sure. I preferred a variation where I had the short side on the bottom and the tall/thick pad on the top. It's a bit of...

I need help making the AKG K702 comfortable

Are the K702 and K7xx the same other than the pads? I've seen those on massdrop for about $170, so it would be a $20 markup + whatever shipping cost to return the current pair of headphones. If that's still the better option, I'll do it though.

I need help making the AKG K702 comfortable

I bought it online from B&H Photo while they were on sale. I assume it was new. I might be conflating the back/bottom since the pain originated from that general area. If flipping the pad changes the area of discomfort, do you know think I should buy flat earpads even though it's not the...

I was thinking of Dekoni or ZMF once I figure out if the issue is asymmetry or if the pads if simply thick.

I need help making the AKG K702 comfortable

I misunderstood "days" as 2-3 -- I am running out of time to return them though. However, I do have some updates/questions. 1) I tried out the AKG K240 and those were SUPER comfortable. I feel like the design is roughly the same, so I wonder if there's something particular about that model. If...
