I don't like how they look, I was just comparing them with the Sony (I like the Sony's but I don't like the small drivers/on-ear style) The 5800 seems like the same hp but focused on treble so is more balanced but that's not what I want, I want some bassy headphones but without overwhelm A LOT...- amsterdance

Well, driver size affect the headphone type (30mm=on-ear / 50mm=over-ear) so size matter in this case. I've seen some comments in this thread about the HD5500 and some people say that they are V-shaped headphones but not totally unbalanced and you said that the bass affect the other sounds so...- amsterdance

Do you think that they'll do a nice work with EDM?, I mostly listen to trance and house and I'm between the HD5500 and the Sony XB550 but the Takstar seems to have better build quality and bigger drivers (30mm vs 50mm).- amsterdance

Monoprice Retro
Ok so, after some reviews I see that some people says that they'll need some power and some others says they'd be ok without amp so I don't know what to do. I want to buy them because they have some nice reviews and they're relatively cheap (Z's recommend them A LOT) but even him doesn't say if...- amsterdance

Monoprice Retro
Well, I said that because I never had some headphones with that "low" sensitivity. I had some Sony's with 24 ohm/102db - 24/100 and my Philips A5 have 16 ohm/105 db so as you can see they are VERY easy to drive and I never tried some like the Retro's, that's why I ask it.- amsterdance

Yep, I know the impedance is low but I want to know about the volume (due to low sensitivity) and if it would be enough to enjoy music and maybe some gaming.- amsterdance

Monoprice Retro
Hi :) I want to know if those headphones will work good in PC/phone without an amp (with decent volume) because they seem to be perfect for what I want but the low sensitivity worries me, that's all. Also, what is the difference between Monoprice Retro / Superlux HD681 / Presonus HD7 in terms...- amsterdance

Thanks for the answer, the 681 seems to have the best sound quality (based on reviews) but the lack of bass is a bad point... On the other side, they seem to be good for gaming too so that's a good point for them compared to the others, at least with the Sony's that are the smaller of them.- amsterdance

Takstar TS-650
Hi, I'm searching for some good cheap headphones and I found these Takstar's but I can't find any reviews about them besides the specs in the official site. Does anyone know/tried them or can provide me some info about how they sound or if an amp is needed?- amsterdance

Yes, build quality in Sony could be a bit plastic but they're resistant. I have the Sony MDR-ZX100 (the cheaper Sony's I guess) that I use usually and after 4 years they still working as new. About the sound, I wouldn't like to overwhelming all the sounds with pure bass and that could be a...- amsterdance

The Sony's seems to be the better of all of them for music with good bass but they're also the more expensives so I don't know if they really worth that. The Philips XH5 seems good too but the only reference that I have for them is the GREQ recommendation and I can't find anything about the...- amsterdance

So, I created the post with two doubts and now I have a lot more  Based on my local prices, this is the best that I could find: Superlux HD681 (not the EVO, just the normal version) 50% says that it have good bass and the other 50% says that it's flat... Oh ok, now I understand :) Do you think they are better than the Sony or the Superlux?, because the Sony seems to have better specs but I'm afraid that the extra bass feature will "eat" the other frequencies and I never used the Superlux.- amsterdance

Hi and thanks for the answer. Hi mates! I've been using my Philips A5 to listen to music on some devices (I'm not an "professional" or a pure audiophile, I just love music :)) and I'm very happy with them but now I want to get some "cheap" headphones for my girlfriend.
