    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I usually have my Wear Sensor set to "More" as I wear glasses and have longer hair & it works very well when listening in the office with several colleagues also listening to bluetooth headsets. If my music pauses when streaming it is usually network related, offline music generally doesn't...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

If you have one of the apps installed, either the original PX app or the new version that was released with the PX7s then you should check the sensitivity of the Wear Sensor. "If PX is pausing abnormally while on your head, switch to More. If PX fails to pause when you pull an ear cup off your...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Thanks for clarifying. As I said in a post further up B&W have said the loose material on the headband is there by design. I'll try to find the email they sent me and attach it here if I get it. I see they have been discounted by £110 but I cant justify buying another pair. I only really want...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Great, thanks for the extra info. I don't mean to pry but may I ask why you've had so many pairs of these headphones? Is there an inherent problem with them or have you just been unlucky? I've had mine nearly 2 years with no real issue other than the headband loosened off but after a further...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

That was my thought also but several posters on here have mentioned a MkII version with the hard case.

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I have the older model PXs with the soft case. The ballistic material is also loose on those. I did think it was bonded to the headband when I first purchased them and when I noticed the movement in the material it was enough of a concern for me to contact Bowers & Wilkins regarding a...

Audioquest Dragonfly Red with Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately after spending over £300 on my PX, I really couldn't justify buying another set of Bluetooth headphones. Even if I sold the PXs, the fact that the PX7s have just been released would mean I'd struggle to get a decent price. I did have the Fiio M9 DAP and...

Audioquest Dragonfly Red with Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G.

Had a quick search but couldn't find anything related. My question is this: With Samsung finally seeming to nail the coffin shut on the 3.5mm headphone jack for their flagship devices and consequently removing the internal DAC to save space, is it still worth connecting my Note 10+ to the DFR...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

That sounds like what my M9 was doing and that's the reason I returned it to the retailer. Fiio told me it was a poor quality WiFi chip.

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I have these headphones and the Dragonfly Red. They do not produce a clear signal when run in cabled mode through the DragonFly. I spoke to B&W and Audioquest and there is a known incompatibility between the DSP in the PXs and the DragonFly. These are the only headphones that have this...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

The FiiO logo lights up in different colours depending on the type of file its decoding but I can't remember what is MQA. Green sounds familiar. Check the instruction manual in the support tab on the device. It will explain more in there.

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

I returned my M9 because of the terrible WiFi dropouts but from memory, it already decodes Master Quality Audio files from Tidal and HiRes files from Qobuz and sound quality was excellent, when it would actually play them over WiFi. Offline files played well also. Why would you want to add in...

Use it for what it was designed for, not for streaming?? This is a direct quote from the FiiO website regarding the M9: "When developing the M9, we at FiiO saw that there wasn't any one player that combined all of the functions people want. Was there a player that could transmit the...

They've replied to other posts. They've weighed in and told users that there's supposedly a firmware update coming in April (by all accounts it's now July and people are still waiting) and they have even replied to my concerns regarding the poor WiFi so they're happy enough to blame another...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

Im sorry, I dont agree. The fact that other people aren't experiencing WiFi dropouts suggests that Fiio either realised the problem and started putting better chips in or they purchased a bulk load of WiFi chips from Samsung that were rated at a certain level of performance but, as in any bulk...

The firmware upgrade is not the problem here, however, it's the only thing that Fiio can tweak to give end users a better experience of an underpowered device. If you look back at my previous posts, my issue is with the WiFi dropouts. I realise other users have not had this experience but if...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

I returned my M9 to Amazon in May and replaced it with an Audioquest Dragonfly Red and wired headphones. It seems I made the right decision if users are still waiting for a firmware update. It's shocking that Fiio are suggesting that people buy the M11 to be given a free gift in their replies...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

The M9s WiFi connection problems I mentioned earlier in this thread finally frustrated me so much that I gave in and returned it to Amazon for a full refund. Unfortunately while I can appreciate that the majority of their products are of a good standard I'll never be buying FiiO again. For...

Disengaging? Not sure what you mean there. I meant no-one mentioned boot times prior to me saying it in the context of overall speed of the M9 and other than you, most people seemed to get that point. I couldn't care less whether you've seen the Tidal issues or not. I haven't. What I have...

How often have I seen Tidal make an update which causes issues with some devices? Never, and I've used it on several devices. The only time Tidal has caused issues for me is when the WiFi drops out, but I'm not getting into that discussion again. If Fiio don't have the resources to test every...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

So are you saying after every single update of Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, Es File Explorer, Deezer, etc, Fiio are retesting the apps to make sure they're not going to cause issues that the previous versions didn't? No-one is asking anyone to be a beta tester and the number of apps on the whitelist...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

No-one's asking them to work on apps. They only have to install an existing, well-established app on a test device and carry out some minimal impact testing to make sure it doesn't cause any issues with the OS or user experience. Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, etc, have all been whitelisted already...

I agree. I asked them to add the Bowers & Wilkins PX headphones app to the whitelist several weeks ago but other than them asking me to provide the apk, (something they should be sourcing), I haven't had any other response.
