Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

Thanks, will consider adding those then. Do you have any memory of its SQ benefits? What I fear most is adding noise to the sound as all my choices in audio components are about the opposite.

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

Thank you for your opinion. And for the connector type, I can never find, or remember, the type. I have my Mscaler connected to an Isotek Aquarius with only a Innuos PhoenixNET also connected to it. The rest is on a separate Cardas Nautilus powerbrick in the attempt to isolate the Mscaler as...

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

I have a question for you gurus, especially for those having heard or owned a Farad Super3. I have a Mscaler and use Wave Storms to my DAVE. Lately, boredom and FOMO has pointed my vision towards a Farad Super3 for Mscaler. I have always detested the look of the accompanying SMPS and it’s thin...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

It seems like no one else uses a Meridian 210, which I interpret as a bad omen. I did order one for testing and it should arrive on Friday. So I’ll be able to contribute a bit by writing about my impressions of it compared to Roon through Node 2i and Sense. I updated my signature so that...

Thanks, I will google that device and check it out!

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not looking for a replacement for Dave as it’s sound is exactly what I’ve been looking for for years. Ideally I find a simple streamer product that is only that, as I’m tired of purchasing products that do more than I need. The Meridian 210 was recommended to me...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

I bought an Innuos Zenith for my mDave a couple of weeks ago and am truly loving it. Because of some issues with my mDave and USB in from Zenith causing pops and cracks I have been using my Node 2i as Roon Endpoint and Zenith as Core and sometimes switched to Sense only using M Scaler on blue...

    Watts Up...?

Thanks for the advice. I actually owned one of these in the past, but sold it as I felt it sacrificed the dynamics of the music. I didn’t have the DC/leakage issue when we moved in. I noticed it at the same time an electrician fixed our oven. So hopefully a solution exists in back tracking what...

    Watts Up...?

@Rob Watts thanks a lot for the suggestions. Will pass that one to the electrician. Using a battery could be the answer as well, I just don’t fancy invalidating the warranty as the M scaler is still covered. and duly noted regarding the Dave BNC, will defer from that route! Does the leakage...

    Watts Up...?

I have a Dave and M Scaler and apparently have some bad electric wiring, or something, in my house (I plan to have an electrician look at that). It means I have to ground the wall plugs in the wall outlet (Schuko plug -> adapter with 3 legs -> Danish wall outlet). If I don’t do that you can...

    Watts Up...?

Thank you for replying and my apologies for interrupting the thread with my issues. I will coordinate with me Distributor from here on. Thanks to everybody that chipped in!

    Watts Up...?

Unfortunately the power strip allignement didn’t work. So if this is RF related it’s more complex then streamer and M Scaler being angry with one another. I did use S/PDIF over RCA from Node 2i prior to optical without issues, so RF should have had the same impact in this scenario. @Rob Watts...

    Watts Up...?

Hmm, RF in the mains. That’s actually a viable reason! I have issues with that already in that I have to use plug adapters with earth to my schuko power cords to avoid having current running through the metal chassis if my components. your saying that could be enough to throw the M Scaler off...

    Watts Up...?

Yeah I also did that yesterday because I forgot M Scaer has separate single/dual OUT. as a side note when the clicks, pops and dropouts occur the Dave screen also flickers on and off (I have the display on when Dave is on, so screen should always show the GUI). maybe Dave is sad and needs a...

Thank you, will continue the path of frustration through the Distributor.

    Watts Up...?

Hi Rob, thanks for taking the time to answer. That really means a lot! If the consensus is a defect in the Chord gear of course I agree. And I already wrote my Distributor about it to pursue that route. but does anyone have experience with settings within Innuos software that can be the culprit?

    Watts Up...?

Hi guys. Want to start by thanking you for your contributions to the head-fi space. I have been reading through multiple Chord related threads for years now. It was these threads that made me decide to buy a Dave and M Scaler! I now have an issue in that regards and I hope you can help me in my...
