I never did find any comparisons myself. Anecdotally I don't think they are the same sound though, as there is a bass improving mod for the HFI that has the opposite effect for the Pro.

Negative-- there is no volume control via DAC. There is volume control when used as a pre-amp, but you would need a way of measuring the output to make sure you don't push the voltage too high.

3A for both the Reference and Playmate, 5A on the GT. I haven't compared the 5A to the 3A as I assume they sound the same, and I'm quite happy with how the 3A sounds on the Reference.

These are the first posts I've ever seen saying that the Super Charger isn't worth it/doesn't make much of a difference. IMO it's required to get the most out of your Burson. It made a significant difference on my Playmate 2, Reference, and GT.
