Fortunately after the repair it's been rock solid. Was frustrating though, as was shipped just before first lockdown and Chord had to close repair shop for some time, but aside from that, yes they were very helpful.

A number of you have said this for a while I know, but all digital sources are not the same. I had bit-perfect usb output and thought I was good to go, but getting my old CD player out (Cambridge Audio 640C, digital out to M-Scaler) and spinning some silver has been a revelation. 1st time...

When I last posted I had just connected my speakers direct to the TT2 (single ended, speakers rated at 4ohm and 89db sensisivity) and said it sounds good. What an understatment! I'm just blown away by how good things are now sounding. Even when driven fairly loud (I've gone to 10db on high...

I finally got around to making up a pair of XLRs terminated with bannana plugs, via a short length (~10cm) of QED silver annivery speaker cable soldered onto the XLR pins. I've gone single ended (pins 1 and 2). Running Monitor Audio Silver 10s no issue. Volume at +0H, plenty loud enouh and no...

Hi, I'm curious what's the advantage of streaming from NUC to the Pi - why not direct optical from NUC? Is it just that the NUC is too far away from TT2, or is the sound better via Pi? Thanks.

I use a intel NUC now, optical out to TT2. Beats my laptop via USB. NUCs are cheap - you should investigate, look for low power CPUs so the NUC is fanless.

get the Supra. Better than standard (free) and better than Audioquest Pearl (now sold) I had before it. A great cable and not silly priced.

Also, take a look at MusicBee https://getmusicbee.com/ A fine free player and manger, pulls artist info from the web, will auto-tag and tidy files and bit-perfect ouput of course.

with you 100%. I'd tried Beyers and Grados, but then settled on Sen HD650s for a few years. The Quads have similar qualities to Sens, but better bass and well just better across the board really, and without the fatiguing (too much mid-range emphasis, for me at least) character of the...

I've fancied an m-scaler for a while, but then tell myself the TT2 sounds so good already do I need one? You make me want one again, oh the poor bank balance...will have to see.

I want to try connecting my speakers direct (Monitor Audio Silver 10, Sensitivity 90dB, nominal impedance 4 Ohms). Taking apart an old XLR plug I have red and black signal wires and earth. I simply solder speaker connections to the red/black posts yes? Just check before doing anything silly!

I was unfortunate to have my TT2 develop a fault, it was sent back to Chord and received by them just before UK lockdown came into effect. Expecting to be without for many weeks and not having another DAC (and definately not liking my 'phones direct from PC) I bought a SH Mojo. The Mojo is a...

Cracking little speakers were the Celestion 3s. Had mine in use 18 yrs until my 8 yr old wanted to play Iron Maiden and not realising the amp took a few seconds to come on, cranked vol to the max and blew out the drivers, maybe didn't laugh at the time, but funny now.

Not sure exactly what you mean by a crinkle, but with mine the right side would drop out with movement and come back, then do it again. Had to send back to Quad for repair and has been perfect since. If bought new I would get back to store as soon as you can, otherwise I'd say keep a watch on...
