    Minnesota Meet 2020

I’m definitely down for a meet provided I can make the time and all this COVID biz has calmed down. I’d consider hauling my PL Evo 100 if we find a safe and easily accessible place (sucker is heavy).

    Minnesota Meet 2020

I can usually make sundays work, just depends on whether my wife is working or not

    Minneapolis meet 2019

If a meet is arranged on a day that my wife can watch the kids I’m game and can bring my ZMFs again.

    Minneapolis meet 2019

Stereoland carries basically the full focal line, I tried out a bunch there before ruling out the clear

If I come I’ll most likely bring along my Atticus, Auteur, TR-X00 and HE 560 for headphones and maybe my thx and smsl dac

Yea, I tried out a bunch of different headphones before biting the bullet and blind-buying the Atticus but I really am glad I did. I now know pretty much exactly the sound I like. My next pair (most likely Aeolus) I will definitely be buying new straight from Zach as I would like to support his...

    Dac + Amp for Dt990 pro 250ohm - Recommendation

Since you seem to actually like your DT990, if you're wanting a convenient desktop solution that looks and sounds good The Element is a really great option. It has a very clean sound, has enough power to fuel most headphones and looks good to boot.

    Upgrade from the HD 650s?

So both the Beyer and Clear are going to be fairly bright in comparison to the 650s and with that feature an entirely different sound signature, one that I personally not a huge fan of, they're both high detail but fatiguing in my experience. I also don't care for the 'tinny' feel the Clear has...

Me too! Boy do I love the Atticus though and I hopped on a decent deal for the Blackwood Auteur shortly after which sadly does not get nearly as much listening time

    Let's say I had $350 to spare . . .

I suggest picking up a good closed back like the Fostex TR-X00 which can be had for ~300 used since we all know that sometimes you just want to be able to tune out the kids. Helps that their a fun and good sounding headphone as well.

Just learned about this thread. Made my account to buy an Atticus a few months ago. Anywho, hi there.

    Minneapolis meet 2019

An interest check on the subreddit is cool by me. Also, agree with the etiquette idea, especially since I’d probably bring the ZMFs I have. Weekends can be tough for me but as long as I have a couple week notice I can make it work

    = HiFiMAN HE-560 Impressions & Discussion Thread =

I’ve been using the THX AAA 789 with the HE560 (was using Modi/Magni2u before) and it has made a huge difference, I can say that I actually enjoy listening to them now and they have a real spot in my rotation finally. Given the linearity of the pair they make for a great analytical listening...

Introducing Vokyl & The Erupt Headset

Weight shouldn’t be much of a problem as long as the headband and pads are good. There’s no way they’ll be heavier than my ZMF cans and those are among the most comfortable headphones I own

Rank the Headphones that You Own.

    1) ZMF Atticus 2) Fostex TR-X00 3) Hifiman HE560 4) AKG K702 5) Sennheiser HD6XX 6) Beyerdynamic DT990 ?) ZMF Auteur... status pending

Introducing Vokyl & The Erupt Headset

I hopped in the campaign pretty early on and for me I just want these to be a justifiable replacement for my K702. If they beat it out in comfort and have a decent soundstage with an emphasis on clarity I’ll be happy
