Selling my Aeon Flow closed backs, they have just been sitting in their box for years now and I don’t see the need in keeping them. They come with the standard cable and a balanced cable, excellent condition and in the box.

You are probably right, I have had my suspicions for a while because it didn’t do so well with a couple of Beyer and Sennheiser that I have either but I prefer them from my McIntosh unbalanced. I guess it’s time to find a new balanced AMP.

They work as balanced headphone amp too and provide the same power as the 6.3 mm( at least according to SPL). With my Audeze I never had any problems, just with the Heddphone.

Everything is set right on the Voltage side, I have had the SPL for almost 2 years now. I am not sure what’s going on, could be the adapter/cable combo for the Heddphone or I need more power from the DAC to the SPL and no switches. When running unbalanced the SPL powers them with 0 problems...

The thing I hate about the switches on the SPL is that the distortion sets in rather quickly once they are turned on(specific to balanced) Using 4v output from the DAC and no switches is not satisfying but With one switch I need to adjust the output from the DAC to 2.5v to reduce the distortion...

In terms of power that is a lot less than the SPL I have. Are you happy in balanced mode ? Hate to think that for $1,600 less I could have been happier but these headphones are making me think the SPL is just not the right combo.

If this ends up anything like their venture into closed back with the Elegia it will most certainly be a skip for me. Certainly worth a go at listening but no preorder here. And if they depend on the pads to do the mids and bass it’s a sure pass.

Any of the other focal pads sound awful on the Elegia. The Elegia pads are designed to carry just about everything quality wise, without the Elegia specific pads the Elegia are pretty much worthless sadly.

The pads very well could be the culprit if not sealed properly, I know first hand that even changing to the Utopia pads ruin this headphone.
