My AK Kann has APTX-HD. I don't know what other AK players do. I use the Sony WH-1000XM3 which also has APTX-HD. I've never done a side by side comparison with my Pioneer to see how much of a difference there is, however. I could see why there is less interest in the extra heat and power...

I get that people want to make their investment stretch as long as possible. but it's still tech gear. Obsolescence is part of the game. I have a Kann and have loved every moment of it. Then again, I'm not a tweaker, trying to squeeze every last bit of performance out of a DAP.

I'm curious if there is a firmware update that bumps these to APTX-HD. Anyone?

Credit card company is your best bet. If it is clearly marked for use in the USA and you got a product not rated for 110v then it should be clear case for a chargeback. Nothing the retailer can do if found to be at fault.

Just ordered my SR15, should arrive Monday. Looking forward to comparing it to my AK300 and DP-X1 through a new (to me) set of CA Andros and SE846s, balanced, natch. Different DAC setups on all 3, so could be interesting, or disappointingly similar.
