    Tidal Lossless Streaming

I wander if 360 sound will also work if listening through portable DAC connected via lightening cable to an iPhone and then to the cans?

Connecting Oppo HA-2 SE to iPhone 11 Pro Max

Thanks indeed for detailed reply. Should I then leave volume on max on iPhone and manage it through the knob on my portable DAC? I assume leaving volume on max on iPhone will sort of keep iPhone digital volume control off?

Connecting Oppo HA-2 SE to iPhone 11 Pro Max

I have just switched from Android to iPhone and gave my new iPhone 11 Pro Max a try with Oppo HA-2 SE paired with PM-3. Connected using Oppo's supplied USB to lightening cable, everything works fine. But, the iPhone volume rocker change the volume. This is something I can't understand...

    Astell&Kern KANN CUBE

Thanks Jason but not really helpful. I quickly checked those who have websites, half of them do not even list A&K among the brands they distributes and those who do have older Kann model offered at USD 1515 with no word about Kann Cube at all. So thanks, I'll pass on local distributors.

    Astell&Kern KANN CUBE

Any info if A&K ships to Turkey? Or better yet when it will be available with retailers (Amazon) shipping internationally? I personally would be happy to keep using Kann but it doesn't allow installation of Spotify/Tidal for offline use which is a shame and is one of the main reasons I'm...

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

Thanks for explaining the obvious. I am aware that my Bluetooth headphones have built in DAC, just like any blue headphone in the world. You were telling me about sound difference between your iPhone 6 and Note 8 connected through wire to your IEMs. Granted you used same player app amd same...

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

Well, just received my Sony WH-1000XM3. Note9 allowed me to connect via Bluetooth with best codec both devices supported which was LDAC and my Onkyo DP-X1A immidiately connected using best it had - AptX HD. Cool thing is Sony WH-1000XM3 supports both and alot other codecs. Didn't notice any...

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

I don't understand what you are trying to proof. Not DAP but DAC in the headphones.

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

Job is not the same. When you use wired headphones you use DAC and amplifier of the phone/portable player and it makes all the difference between iPhone, Note9 or any other player. When you transmit the music via Bluetooth you use DAC and amplifier built into your headphone only (in my case...

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

That's what I will do when Sonys are delivered. But I'm not sure any test I will do will be consistent. At the end of the day it's same headphones, same player app, same Bluetooth codec and same DAC (in Sony headphones). I was more interested in engineering/technical part of this.

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

I assume M2 is wired IEM? Did you see anything about wired headphone in my post?

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

Please elaborate why? Same player Spotify same codec AptX, why would there be any difference between Onkyo DP-X1A and Note9 steaming to Sony WH-1000XM3 considering DAC/amplifiers of both Onkyo and Note9 are not used?

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

Note 9 allows to choose upto 96kHz/ 32bits/ you can also choose upto 990kbps streaming. So I believe it's pretty capable. Spotify was just a reference, I use other players for HiRes audio files. I don't think I'll ever be selling my Onkyo or Kann as I use those through balanced output to my Oppo...

Bluetooth LDAC/AptX to WH-1000XM3 different sources

Have just ordered my Sony WH-1000XM3 for travel and noise reduction feature. Surprisingly it supports almost all modern Bluetooth codecs. Considering Bluetooth streaming doesn't use phone's DAC at all I wander if streaming same music files (say from Spotify) will make any difference if streamed...

Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP

I wander how the battery performs with cans. Battery seems to be same 4000mAh as with previous model. My Onkyo DP-X1A doesn't last long. While Kann does it's really bulky to carry and no offline Tidal

Great! I didn't know HK online shops ship international? Could you advise which website did you use to order? Thanks.

It appears it's sold in HK for 4,998 Hong Kong Dollars which is about 637.17 USD USD 162 less than on Hiby website.

Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP

Hey guys, will these be able to drive my Oppo PM-3 and PM-2? A&KKann drives them on balaned just fine but again there is no way to stream Spotify and download anythig on Tidal. 4.4 balanced dosn't make me too happy as I already invested in 2.5mm balanced cables.

Astell & Kern KANN - DAP with Massive Storage & Battery

On their Russian website they have pretty much all details you may need. If you didn't find what you need elsewhere perhaps you would want to try it with google translate. https://astellnkern.ru/catalog/player/kann/kann/

Astell & Kern KANN - DAP with Massive Storage & Battery

Today Tidal announced that Tidal android app is now supporting MQA streaming. I wander if A&K will support MQA streaming on it's Tidal app and if not if there are any plans to support it.

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

I can share my experience if you don't mind. Even though I habe Focal sound system in my car it still doesn't make sence to use my Onkyo via Bluetooth as it will still degrade quality. Hence no sence for me to stream flac files or anything above 320kbps.I assume your truck Bluetooth audio...

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Change the truck. Just kidding. I'm actually surprised to hear Bluetooth gives such a message that device is not supported. Bluetooth is supposed to pair with anything Bluetooth, that's tye idea. Could you describe steps you take to pair Bluetooth?

    Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX

Assuming you carry your smartphone with you anyways and if you don't mind lack of balanced output you could consider Oppo HA-2SE DAC instead of Mojo. It's half the price and I'm very happy with it connected to Galaxy Note 8. It drives everything I have, no issues.

    Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX

I personally think no one will feel the difference if blind test is made. And what does "better" definition is? What sounds better for me may sound worst for you. I purchased Onkyo DP-X1A (twin brother or Pioneer) and believe it sounds fantastic on my Shure SE846. Onkyo can't drive my Oppo PM1...
