HIFIMAN HE400i 2020 Version
I recently purchased the Hifiman 400i 2020 and they should be here tomorrow (an open box set off their website as mentioned above). While this is not my first experience with planar cans, I am none the less excited. The mobius was my first taste of planar and I loved them but their build is...- Swiftstickler

Audeze Mobius review / impressions
I am with ya on not being able to use other headphones. I love the sound quality and options so much but then we have this crap plastic build that makes me "ugh" lol. I super glued the most recent break back together but who knows how long that will last. I seen in this thread (some pages back)...- Swiftstickler

Mine cracked in the same place on a second pair (same as the first pair) after I rma'ed my indigogo pair. This time I decided to fix them myself. A mountain dew can and some super glue. Its ugly but it got the job done... a couple months later they broke again at the band where they move in and...- Swiftstickler

You shouldn't have to go through all that trouble. Just click on more options at the bottom of the box that tells you driver isn't signed. It will give you the option to still install it if you trust the software.- Swiftstickler

I haven't had many problems updating (have had mine in hand since 9/1/2018 and have updated with every released firmware). Downloaded and installed the firmware they took down with one problem. It blue screened my pc the first time, worked the second time. Then my headset broke. Got a new one a...- Swiftstickler

So I never use my mobius for anything other than wired pc gaming. I recently picked up Dragon Quest XI for my Nintendo Switch. This version of the game comes with the orchestral versions of all the music. I figured I may as well plug the ol' Mobius in and and slap some hi res on it (keeping on...- Swiftstickler

This was announced several months back. Its basically just a wired mobius. To answer your question "why?". Who knows. 3d audio seems to be all the rage these days. ** and yes audeze pretty much loaned them their hardware for rebranding or something like that.- Swiftstickler

Seems the ear cup plastic has about a year shelf life on it. Going to need to find a way to reinforce it quick. I would hate for a second pair to break right there- Swiftstickler

That seems to be where they are all breaking. Be patient. It's the weekend in California still. Someone will get up with you on Monday I am sure. Edit* Not sure why you are getting the error I have been in contact with them via email regularly the past few weeks.- Swiftstickler

I agree, burn in or no burn in they great right out the box. Hands down the best headphones I have owned. Admittedly I don't have much experience in the headphone audiophile world though. Diving deeper into it. Looking into getting a pair of open backs.- Swiftstickler

I used mine every day for a year for everything from music to games to movies. For sessions lasting upwards to most of the day at times. If there was a burn in I never noticed it. the only time I noticed sound changes is when they did firmware updates. My eq has since switched to flat for pretty...- Swiftstickler

While I haven't read much about this burn-in I am inclined to think that it is a placebo effect. I didn't "like" the sound of the Mobius initially because I was used to other cheaper/warmer toned gaming headphones. As I kept the Mobius on my noggin though they quickly became my favorite...- Swiftstickler

Mine broke in pretty much the same spot. I had them plugged in and they got pulled off the desk and fell. Just got a new pair recently going to have to think about how to reinforce them right there some how.- Swiftstickler

Something to note is that to get netflix to play audio at 5.1 you need to use Netflix's actual windows app. It will not stream at 5.1 in your browser. Also windows should automatically recognize it as an 8 channel device.- Swiftstickler

For finding the circumference, I just took a string and wrapped it around my head till the ends touched and took that measurement. I measured from entrance as well. For the inter-aural arc, I measured from the back of one ear to the the other. probably mid concha. As for the latest firmware...- Swiftstickler
