Usually theres a breakin period. Its not that long but the sound do change a little bit, usually hard or impossible to perceive from my experience. But remember that the changes on the drivers are usually not the deciding factor there. Your amp temp and your ear cushions that matters much more.

He560 seems to have more sub bass than Sundara from my experience with both. Sundara has a somewhat scratchy sound that i cannot explain, compared to to smoother sounding He560, narrower soundstage too. Tried both on my ifi micro idsd black label.

I think its because the 400i is just hard to drive, so when you dont feed those enough power, these will sound thin and have sibilance. Similar story with the 560.

    iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review

Hi, is there anyway for me to determine the amount of battery left in my micro idsd BL?

I kinda like the sound of turbo so i keep using it, love the dynamic and thick sound it brings. Right now even with turbo on all the time, the amponly becomes warm to the touch at most after several hours of usage, and its not getting hotter. Before it was just around 30 minutes, and the unit...

I guess im gonna stay at 5.2 after all. The amp is running warm now, but obviously is not as hot as before, not to that degree. I've been reading feedbacks about the new firmware, and it seems that 5.3c update is...controversial. Many people reported negative sound change, but no one is...

@phthora Hi, today i just discovered a strange thing on my ifi micro idsd bl. Recently it was overheating on turbo mode, so i downgraded the firmware from the recently downgraded the firmware to 5.2, and the sound changed dramatically. Its sounding fuller and more organic, with a increase in...

    iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review

@iFi audio After listening to a few more tracks, the change in sound signature of this amp is bugging me... Aside from the soundstage, the newer 5.3c is inferior to the older 5.2 firmware in every single way. The midrange and bass improved dramatically, its making my supposed cool sounding HE560...

    iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review

@iFi audio Hi, recently i've noticed that my micro idsd BL is running abnormally hot, its way above my room temp, possibly my own body temp on the shell. i was wondering if the culprit is the new firmware or not, so i downgraded from 5.30c to 5.2, and its running cooler once again, along with...

Never heard an electrostat before so i cannot compare, but I'm very much prefer musicality over accuracy in general. Looks like i'm gonna take a look at the HE6SE if i have a chance in the near future. Read some reviews and it seems that whatever the he560 can do, the HE6 can do better. Still...

well thats sad to know. Good thing i can still listen to music on my mac. Is there any work around for this?

well i am amazed already, just from this little amp... I'm wondering if i have sth more powerful, how is it gonna sound? Another thing i notice is that this thing just synergize really well with the 560. Driving those in eco mode sounds a bit worse than turbo, yet only the fullness of the sound...

    iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review

Hi, yesterday i installed the ifi USB audio class 2 driver on windows 10, and now i cannot choose 32bit/384khz anymore, but limited to 192khz instead. Is there sth wrong with my hardware?. My macbook pro is running fine, it automatically run at 32bit/768khz right off the bat, but i cannot...

Bought the ifi micro ids black label yesterday, my he560 runs like a champ on it. Running turbo mode, no channel imbalance after 9:30 volume knob. This amp really smooth out the treble of the 560 for me, while providing a much fuller and warmer sound. Bass is really really fast compared to my...

    iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review

Im using the HE560, and if we are comparing specs, my 560 is harder to drive than the HEX v2... And my newly bought BL is driving it just fine on turbo mode, so yea i think it can drive the HEX v2.

Bang for buck he560 is still a beast even now. Id say if u r budget conscious, diminishing return will hurt u real bad if u want to upgrade though.

Does your v2 having wooden cups? cuz as I remember, adorama v2 and v3 are 100% identical besides the headband strap. Only the wooden cup ones sounds different than adorama versions.

I do believe that the sound is changed to some extend. Cup material changed, backplate removed, different headband with different clamping force...etc Its nearly impossible to retain the original pair's sound signature 100%, even if its a 10% different, its still perceivable. No amount of tuning...

So all other versions beside the SMC don't have the backplates? And i thought the v1 and v2 are identical besides the connectors. What's the purpose of the backplate anw, for protection? Is that why the later revisions sound different from the original SMC version?

Well, its been my daily driver and the "do-it-all" headphones since i've made the purchase. Those cans are just so versatile and realistic sounding compared to everything else i've owned, or heard. I think i've beginning to have a realistic sound signature preference after a few short years of...

They do have lots of QC problems, but I rarely heard about channel imbalance coming from Hifiman. Most of their QC issues are about the fragile yoke. Definitely not worth the 900USD price tag though, its too fragile for that price tag. 400USD should be a very compelling price, and 250 is a steal.

Indeed. I bought those for only one single day and used the stand. The next day i return those to the store, its already dented and cannot return to its original shape.

Guys, Audeze is cooperating with Kingston to create the Hyperx Cloud Orbit S. From what I've read, it seems to have everything the Mobius has, minus the wireless mode.

I always use high gain for the 560, Those headphones are very power hungry, and almost always sounds better the more power u provide it. The HE560 also benefits greatly from full bodied and warm amps, such as the ifi iDSD Micro black label. I believe that amp is better suited for the HE560 than...

@Licht Oh, so the Class A and tube amps warms up faster? That figures, thx for u input. @WhiskeyJacks The Magni 3 is Class A/B i think, not Class A. I really like it after the lengthy warm up phase. I tested in two ways: - listen after turning the amp on, and after every 30 minutes. - listen...
