Yeah the DD might be the decision maker honestly. Tough to say and need more time to decide because they are both very good. Only have listened to the u12t for a bit since I received it in a trade and had to send it in for a repair. I think the DD though on the solaris results in a much...- Audiophonicalistic

I’m having a hard time deciding between 64 audio u12t and Solaris. Both paired with Janus d. I’m getting out of portable audio and getting into 2channel. I have too much portable gear and these are my last two iems. Only keeping one.- Audiophonicalistic

that’s a good point you’re making the 8wire is much heavier then stock. the Thor silver 8wire is a lot of energy. Out of all the iems I’ve tried it on the only one I prefer it with is the Solaris. It’s highly recommended with legend x but it becomes way to overpowering for me, and with my...- Audiophonicalistic

same. Bass is perfect. I’d be worried having more bass would muddy the mids and mids are the most important to me.- Audiophonicalistic

I agree, I can pick out Thor silver 2 8wire from stock very easily a/b testing. I honestly didn’t want to believe in cables either but tried a highly respected cable and have been changed since.- Audiophonicalistic

Janus d is a solid cable with Solaris and lotoo paw gold. I think Thor silver ii 8wire is solid as well. Listen to electronic, folk, rock, and classical- Audiophonicalistic

Lotoo PAW Gold Touch - Touchscreen, 4.4mm Bal, USB DAC, Bluetooth
The biggest gain I’ve noticed going 4.4 on lpgt is quieter background. Solaris is a hiss monster and is pretty dead quiet on 4.4. Other than that I sometimes prefer the sound out of 3.5 on the lpgt. All of these differences are small. I think twister 6 said both sound very similar as well. But...- Audiophonicalistic

same here. And if your files are labeled by disc then track, it’s easier to find out which track I’m going to. New sp2000 has my eyes. How do they compare?- Audiophonicalistic

Yeah sorry, I tagged them disc number then file so I believe it’s 01-01-song title 01-02 -song title. I listen by picking an album and letting it play through or I go to songs click play all and hit shuffle. You can see where it goes to disc one then disc two. Music that I buy online is all...- Audiophonicalistic

I’m glad when I ripped my cds I tagged them in order with numbers and do prefer it on lpgt but if you didn’t I could see it being a major issue. And it’s true, its the only dap that sorts them like this that I’ve had.- Audiophonicalistic

Agreed, I have pure silver on solaris and its sweet. The effect audio thor silver really isolated the bass and adds quite the punch. It's the only silver I've listened to- Audiophonicalistic

Just make sure you take care of packaging and include all accessories. I've heard they'll give full refund unless you forget accessories or packaging gets damaged. Pretty sweet.- Audiophonicalistic

I never understood weak midrange in solaris, but I've only heard a few totl performers. I just recieved the u12t and the midrange on those vs solaris, I think solaris is much more forward and thicker. U12t is great but solaris wins in the midrange. I prefer female vocals to male. One iem that...- Audiophonicalistic

Yes the cable pairings sometimes aren't the best. For example I did not enjoy my legend x or phantom with thor ii 8wire., even though many people at ee forum enjoy those pair ups. However, I was recommended janus d, and that pairing is amazing imo. Putting Janis d on solaris sounded good, but...- Audiophonicalistic
