Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

I'm getting a regular short haircut because of DT-1350, pain comes otherwise :-D But I missed shaving because of pretty busy days and that changed sound signature somewhat until today :-o Yes, position is often a key!

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

I would advice to keep calm, we are talking about the headphones, right? Don't ruin your credibility like others try to do. Personally I found his findings very consistent with mines, especially DT-1350 (which is a very complex case) and MDR-1A. It doesn't mean you have to follow his opinions...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Ok, that explains and I'm satisfied. Doesn't mean I agree but I understand. Won't comment on possible market relationship between BenF and Takstar. It might be, might not. Very hard to find out. Maybe he is just too enthusiastic. Internet is full of business connections, hidden or not, I swim...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

It's USD, but it doesn't matter. I can pretty understand your approach and would take the same path if aiming for DT-1990 (or, personally, rather DT-1770). But neither of them exactly fullfil "cheap office headphones" definition, right? I would never come across chi-fi thread like this if...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

:) Well, I meant mostly the frequency ranges & waterfall graphs etc. This is rather subjective opinion to me. You still need a common sense to interpret measurements -- like you wrote -- channel matching for instance. Peak around 5-7kHz is said to affect closed headphones a lot. Or differences...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

At least some hard info than impressions, nice effort for 80$ headphones :-) I regards his reviews pretty consistent with my experience(s) and it seems to be the case this time also. I might take a look at my two pairs -- silver and black -- if there are mentioned differences. Someday. Pro 82...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

I tried for fun my new silver pair, not burn-in. With Sabaj DA2 and O2 amp set to 1x (yes!), I can safely state there is a difference between new and used Pro 82 - it's not that apparent as with some other headphones, but clearly there is. On one of my favorite songs to test bass & vocals I can...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

This caught my attention. I also posses this album (it's mandatory :)) and listened to it in the past. Loaded into Hidizs and plugged DT-1350, I think sound has some apparent "problems" -- hisses, veiled trebles, lack of overall definition etc. It was recorded in Havana, don't know what...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

I've got the same experience with DT-1350 so I'm not surprised at all. DT-1350 are famous for their sub-bass -- and if the song/equipment is able to produce it, you can enjoy it and vice versa. Opened my ears a lot. I'm not keen on Quincy Jones, but I admit his mastering is very pinpoint...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Got Takstar HI 2050 a few days ago -- promised to write some brief comparison to Pro 82. Did some burn-in (~50hrs) and listen to my "test mix" before their journey to my mother in law. Honestly, they are not bad per se, but anyway MILES AND MILES behind Pro 82 as sound quality goes. Detail is...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

I think there is no one actually. Certainly not the scientifically oriented like innerfidelity or here. Manufacturer provided measurements should be handled with a bit of salt. Yesterday for fun I watched Z review during dinner and I guess the guy was on drugs or something. So no info here...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

I pretty understand people are confused, looking for a cheapo plastic wonder. But BenF did a honest job here and I appreciate it. If I regarded this as a typical hypethread, I wouldn't even bother to comment at all. As for the much more expensive headphones -- my opinion is such owners have...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Nice to read comparisons of Pro 82 to most famous headphones -- with an amusing results. As far as I can tell, they are most probably true. A few days ago I bought Morricone's soundtrack album for my wife, purely as a reminiscent of history (she remembers vinyl made in 70's). The engineering...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Yep, just a coincidence :) Not sure how many posts I'll make, not enough time to enjoy new equipment (*any* equipment :-D) so I don't buy many. And it has to made a sense to me. Just wanted to post my comparisions -- this thread is a main reason I've bought Takstar and I'm quite happy, so here...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Wow, I say wow :) Those headphones really know how the music should sound! I expected good sound but surely not *that good* :-o I'm writing this since somebody mentioned Sony MDR-1A in comments earlier. Almost twin to Takstar I have to say. See pictures. I've done business with MH Recording...
