True and it’s case and existing hardware dependent. At some point o was playing Flacs and DSF music from a MacBook using JRiver and the sound was astonishing but not applicable across the board from vinyl players and CD. Besides the transparency of the Lokius is phenomenal.

Agree but when you use CDs or Turntables and you want to add EQ without a PC or a Laptop using high quality balanced cables then Hardware EQ is the way to go IMHO.

I would still recommend a Lokius which will tweak any headphone to your liking, you can still change pads though

Would really appreciate the photos of the turntables once in progress. I believe it should be some heavy wood for stability.

Wow this is impressive, @bcowen is in luck being on the receiving side of your artwork (The sideway Incubus and now the rack). :xf_cool: There is some magical attraction in every well finished wood piece.

You took your carpentering skills to the next level as the rack is a serious "Schiit" woodwork :beerchug:

I would recommend the Elise (Freq response 10Hz-60Khz) if budget allows as the Echo 2 (15Hz-45Khz) sound signature is so clean and very close to Solid States

You can never go wrong with a Mcintosh but yes $100 is too much for shipping charges for the Lokius.

Took me sometime and research but by now I can highly recommend the Schiit Lokius with both balanced and unbalanced I/O if you are interested in a hardware EQ. Total transparency.

And if you want to get blown away, get an Astell & Kern music player and match it with a good Westone Mach 70 IEM

That's the thing about equalizers, never start a music hearing session with them if you plan to switch to un-equalized at some point. But to be fair, pure audio will always have its magic once driven through good components.

Thanks for all your insight and I totally agree that tubes and Vinyl marry so well, already the Music Hall MMF-5.3 https://www.musichallaudio.com/products/music-hall-mmf-5-3-turntable is a good turntable as per most reviews as well as the Mcintosch Phono section but seems a tube preamp is...
