No amp/dac necessary. i tried out a friends and while there was maybe a 10 -15% difference, it certainly wasn't worth it for an extra $200.

I ended up getting the Oppo pm-3 and I am very happy with my choice. plenty of bass. i tried them out with a friends amp/dac too and while there was a difference, it was maybe a 15% increase. not worth it for an extra 200 imo.

so I ended up pulling the trigger and buying these, they should be arriving thursday. does anyone have any incite into how much of a difference a dragonfly red will make vs straight from a mac book pro? like percentage wise what kind of quality benefit can I expect vs straight from source?
