Thanks for this! Anyone care to speculate on what that sync source selector does? Still no manual for the iDSD Pro on iFI's web site.

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread

Hello @iFi audio Have you posted photos of the back of the iDSD Pro? The only photo Music Direct has is of the front, and the iDSD Pro has not yet appeared on the iFI web site. Thanks

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread

Thank you for the prompt response. There has been much credible discussion lately about the quality of MQA's filters. I just wanted to make sure that those possibly inferior filters do not compromise your new flagship in any way.

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread

Hello @iFi audio ! This post is for questions about the MQA implementation in the iDSD Pro. Please refer to this article for context: I own a iDSD Nano BL, and the constant upsampling seem to be engaged there (had to flash non-MQA firmware to restore functionality of the sample rate LED...

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread

Thank you @iFi audio for the update. I'm very much looking forward to an announcement of a release date for the iDSD Pro! One question: your 4/5 post above talks about clocks. Does the iDSD Pro use an OCXO clock?

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread

I hope that @iFi audio waits or passes on MQA. The firmware on the Nano BL has some persistent issues with regards to MQA and it would add insult to injury if MQA was the reason for the delay of the iDSD Pro. I think this DAC could be something really special, and I'm hoping it doesn't turn...

    Ifi iLink USB converter

Thank you for responding. As I said, I have two of these and having also tried the new Schiit Eitr, I prefer the iLink because is runs from USB power (no wall wart!). I understand that product lines must evolve. I'm glad I got my iLinks when they were still available.

    Ifi iLink USB converter

While I live in California, I have always purchased your products from internet storefronts (mostly Musicdirect). Can we assume you have stopped manufacturing the iLink and you're just waiting for the supply chain to be exhausted before announcing the iLink's retirement? It's the general...

    Ifi iLink USB converter

Hello iFi and thanks for responding to my query. I'm going to respectfully decline your request to take this conversation private. I only asked if the iLink is still a current product and if so, where one can be purchased today. Because this forum represents such a large swath of your...

    Ifi iLink USB converter

I have two of these, and recently compared one to a friend's Schiit Eitr. We couldn't hear a difference between the Eitr and the iLink. Another friend at our test asked where to find an iLink. They have been conspicuously absent from Musicdirect for many months. @iFi audio , can you offer...

Not really understanding your optimism. :relaxed: Seriously, iFi has given no indication that the iDSD Pro will be out next year.

The iDSD Pro is the Duke Nukem Forever of DACs.

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

My chain is Mac Pro -> USB3 cable -> iGalvanic3.0 -> USB3 cable -> iDAC2 -> Lake People G109-A -> Audio Technica ATH R70x. The iGalvanic3.0 replaced an iPurifier v1 that I had in front of the iDAC2 (never really heard a difference with the iPurifier). Yes, the iDAC2 has no battery, which is...

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

I've had the iGalvanic3.0 for a week now. It really takes the iDAC2 to a higher level. While I'm a big fan of upsampling (primarily with HQPlayer), the iGalvanic3.0 makes CD resolution files sound really, really good through the iDAC2. I highly recommend this product.

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

Perhaps. Hey, do you suppose the iDSD Pro will become the iDSD Pro3.0?

Cool. Any plans for a DAC with "3.0" in its name? :)

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

"able to handle" vs. "it will connect at USB3 speed". With all due respect, "able to handle" is ambiguous. That's crystal clear, no need to expound. Thanks again.

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

It would be more clear if you were explicit about what iFi devices with USB3 connectors can and cannot connect at USB3 speeds.

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

I've noticed this ever since the iDSD Nano and iDAC2 have been released (I have both). They connect at USB2 speed using a USB3 cable. Here's a simpler example, with an iDAC2 plugged directly into a Mac Mini running El Capitan (USB3 cable of course and the Mac is USB3 capable): As you can...

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

I agree with what you're saying based on my own experience. But, for example, the marketing and technical literature that iFI provides for the iDAC2 does not state this explicitly. And, it would seem that the iGalvanic3.0 does indeed support USB3 at the input. Something between the...

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio

Been using an iGalvanic now for 2 days. It breathed some new life into an iDAC2 that I use at work. Non-upsampled Redbook files now sound noticeably better. I was quite skeptical that the improvement would be this significant. But so far, the iGalvanic has made a believer out of me. iFi...
