SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
Just finished doing this same upgrade on my 1A, and my initial impressions are much the same. While I wouldn't go quite so far as to say that the difference is dramatic, there are definitely noticeable improvements to soundstage and separation. I need to log more listening hours post-change, but...- muschem

Custom Art FIBAE 4 announcement
The wait was more than worth it for me. I love the F4 (also have F3, which is good in a different way). I put a several dozen hours through it while traveling recently, and it sounds great through the Radsone ES100 using LDAC. But, wiring it up to my WM1A is just amazing. I'm now debating...- muschem

Custom Art FIBAE 4 announcement
I can't speak specifically to the F4, as I haven't yet received it. However, for the F3 I can say that the Radsone ES-100 bluetooth module works great for driving, and SQ is very good over LDAC or AAC, and volume is more than adequate using either my iPhone or WM1A as a source. I had a short...- muschem

Radsone EarStudio ES100
I went with copper. It pairs well with my FIBAE3, which (until the F4 arrives) are my daily drivers.- muschem

Radsone EarStudio ES100
Indeed. He crafted and shipped the cable very quickly, and the fit, finish, and function are all great. The jacket on the cable is more pliable than on my Ares II, so no issues with microphonics. The right-angle 2.5mm balanced connector is more appropriate for the side-mount input on the ES100...- muschem

Radsone EarStudio ES100
Thanks for this! I was just looking for a short cable to pair with my ES100. Triton Audio Cables was very responsive and easy to work with. Looking forward to receiving one of these to try out.- muschem

Radsone EarStudio ES100
I just got my ES100 in and I'm really enjoying it. The firmware upgrade was easy. Pairing with multiple devices was painless (really like how seamless it is to switch between two sources). The sound is great - powers my FIBAE3's wonderfully, and LDAC from the WM1A is almost indistinguishable...- muschem

CustomArt FIBAE Impressions Thread
I used registered airmail via USPS, per CustomArt's instructions, and everything went fine. It did take 3-4 trips back and forth to the counter at the local post office to figure out all the forms and get the package prepared for international shipping, but that part would probably have gone...- muschem

Best option for moving all music to the cloud?
Something like Plex media server might do what you want. Rather than move your library to the cloud ("cloud" is just storage/service on someone else's computer), you could potentially keep you media where it's at, and provide remote access to your mobile devices via Plex. Several caveats here...- muschem

Over ear cans $200-300 for gaming/music
Never tried the Senn M2's, nor some of the other recommendations, but personally I like the DT 770. There may be better cans for the money... not sure, but I've had 770s for years, and always been solid for me. Lower impedance pros usually skew heavier on the low end, and they're easier to...- muschem

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
Didn't have any major issues on 3.0, but as others have noted, 3.01 is much faster for the database build.- muschem

USB signal improvement devices (iFi purifiers, AQ jitterbug, Schiit Eitr etc.)
I use an IFI Nano iUSB 3.0 in my computer audio setup. While I'm not displeased, neither would I admit to a significant difference in the result. *Maybe* the background is slightly blacker. The upstream DAC/amp in my setup is a Grace m9XX, if that matters.- muschem

Which 4.4mm cable for Sony NW-WM1A?
Well, I suppose the answer depends on a lot of things. My personal experience with cables is fairly limited, but I've had good luck so far with my EffectAudio Ares II. I use it for my IEMs, but I understand they can terminate for a wide variety of headphone and earphone connections. For...- muschem

Leather headband for Beyer "Custom" (One/Studio)
Sounds like you found a good alternative. Just wanted to say that I have an older model of the one you linked from Turbulent Labs (the newer one looks nicer than mine, actually), and it has held up very well so far.- muschem

Bluetooth stereo earphones with Great mic
Along these lines, I've been wondering about the quality of bluetooth replacement cables with integrated mic. I already have IEMs that I like, so adding call capabilities and wireless would be nice. Looking forward to seeing any replies, as I have no experience with solutions in this area.- muschem

Neutral Sounding Digital Audio Player
I like my Sony WM1A, and to my ears it sounds fairly neutral. The balanced output on this is 4.4mm, but you can find good ultra-short 2.5 -> 4.4 adapters that don't degrade signal. The one I use for that purpose is a pentaconn available from EffectAudio.- muschem

Recommendations on CIEMs for EDM?
I recently acquired CustomArt FIBAE3, and EDM is among the genres I typically play while working. I believe the FIBAE3 is more reference tuned, so the low response is fairly flat. That said, I do still enjoy the tight, fast sub-bass when I spin up Infected Mushroom on these. The smooth high end...- muschem

DAP Burn-In - What happened?
I haven't read much about the particulars of burn-in... only that it is apparently "a thing". Is load supposed to matter? By that I mean, would it be equally effective to run source without drivers attached, or should there be some impedance present for this to work well? Sorry if this is an...- muschem

Beyerdynamic Dt770 Pro vs. Audio Technica ws1100iS
I'd say they'd be fine for gaming. More deep bass than mid bass to my ear, but not particularly overwhelming. Clarity is fine, and I actually use a pair with my digital piano for practice sessions, and note separation and articulation are fine. For a while, I used the 250 ohm pair with an...- muschem

Great review! I picked these up while waiting on my FIBAE3s to arrive, and I really enjoy the value proposition they bring. No doubt less refined than many options, but nonetheless very enjoyable and affordable.- muschem

Beyerdynamic Dt770 Pro vs. Audio Technica ws1100iS
No experience with the Audio Technica, but I've had Beyerdynamic DT770s for several years, and I find them to be solid all-around cans. I find my 80-Ohm Pros to have a bass bias, while my older 250-Ohm version is more neutral sounding. I like both for different reasons.- muschem

No experience with the NFB-11, but I think the Grace m9XX is a bargain at $300. Pairs well with my Beyerdynamic DT770 cans.- muschem
