Focal Elegia - what do you think?

Even better when they had it new for 299 for a while! That was a insane value

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

Haven't heard those but one being planar and the other Dynamic I don't think you will regret having both!

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

You won't be disappointed, they can take a while to get used to as their sound signature is a bit different than most headphones but there is no closed back that can compete with them at that price or ev n quite a bit higher IMO

are refurbished Hifiman safe to buy ?

FYI you can now get a new Hifiman Ananda Stealth for $400.... so I wouldn't risk a refurbished

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

I don't really know how to explain it but I will try. When I had both and was going back and forth between the two headphones every time I put the Ananda Stealth on the music just sounded rich and full and made me smile but the XS just made me listen critically for some reason... never...

    Hifiman Ananda

FYI the Ananda Stealth is 400 on Hifiman's website and Amazon for a new pair, just thought I would let you all know, amazing headphones, probably my favorite and a ridiculous steal of a price for a headphone that good! if I didn't already have them and was trying to choose between the Stealth...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

I have the Stealth and got it at the same time as the Edition XS and much preferred the Ananda Stealth to the XS, in comparison the XS sounded very dry, technical and unmusical compared to the much more musical presentation of the Stealth. Haven't tried the Nano because I am so happy with the...

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

I love them as well, I didn't at first but I can't use open backs like my Hifiman Ananda Stealth in my cigar room because of the large exhaust fan and the noise level... Enter the Elegia, I listen to them so much that they are now tied for first with my Ananda Stealth as my favorite headphones.

    Hifiman Ananda

I have the Stealth and I love it. Very well balanced between bass, treble and mids. Soundstage while not being huge left to right is adequate and quite tall, imaging is crazy good, very musical, enough detail to satisfy anyone without becoming analytical and dry. I only had a very short time...

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

Mine came with a normal but still short and stuff black cable, it is fine in a pinch but I still don't use it because of how rigid it is.

So nice you bought it twice?

Now that is commitment to what you like!

So nice you bought it twice?

Not insane at all! I am always afraid of upgrading to the new revision Incase I don't feel the magic anymore!

So nice you bought it twice?

That is what I am planning on doing with the Elegia, just buy it and test it out for a few days to make sure everything is all good in the return period and then just put it in its case somewhere until something happens to my original pair. Seems like a good idea now that you can get the Elegia...

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

Absolutely! I was used to the Hifiman sound and to say these were a shock to my ears would be a understatement! Very odd the first time I heard them. Now they are tied for first as my most listened to headphones and I can switch freely with different Hifiman headphones and love the...

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

Agreed, I didn't like the stock pads at first but I stuck with them for about a week and now I love them, I know people say the sheepskin pads raise the bass but I get plenty of bass for my tastes and they sound about as perfect as a closed back can to my ears! Definitely give them a bit with...

So nice you bought it twice?

Just a thought I was having about buying a second Focal Elegia just to have as a backup if mine ever breaks. I use it constantly when I am smoking cigars in my cigar room which has a somewhat loud exhaust fan. The Elegia seem to be the perfect closed back for blocking the noise and for my...

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread

I only have the Moondrop Aria for a IEM but going from something like that to any of the egg shaped Hifiman headphones is a huge leap in audio quality, soundstage and detail.

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread

I have the Ananda Stealth and find the soundstage to be very good both vertically and horizontally. I also tried the XS and did not care for it at all, way to dry and in musical to me but the soundstage was no bigger than the Ananda Stealth to me at least.

    Hifiman Ananda

Awesome thanks for the impressions! I have the Ananda Stealth and have no problem with the cups not swiveling, fits me great. Also another note for you the headband on the Ananda it also scratches when you adjust the height of the headband. It appears Hifiman just doesn't design headband...

    Focal Elegia burn in time

I always thought burn in was bull and still do but my Elegia definitely changed to my ears, and none of my other headphones ever have before, so either my brain was really good at tricking me with this particular headphone it actually needed burn in

    Focal Elegia burn in time

That is the same way I felt about the Edition XS, I tried the Ananda Stealth, Sundara and Edition XS all at the same time and ended up keeping the Ananda Stealth and Sundara because they were just so beautiful and musical. XS just felt too detail oriented, dry, technical and not musical at all.

    Focal Elegia burn in time

Not to thread jack but how bright are the Nanos? I have the Stealth and love them and keep hearing that the Nano is brighter than all the previous versions of the Ananda.

    Hifiman Ananda

Ok, a comparison to the Arya Stealth would be great because it is insanely cheap right now! I really appreciate it and if course no hurry. Wish I had a place near me to demo stuff
