What about these little metal grills on the sides of the earphones? Is that only an imitation or are they there for a reason? If so, is there noticable level of sound leaking out? I am looking for a daily iems and I see dk-4001 as serious contender for this role.

Another workaround which jumps onto mind is to get an lshaped extender. Not good for aesthetics either nonetheless would do the job.

To my ears I found CP145 getting the best seal and benefiting whole SQ, nonetheless it is very persobal and consisted of too many factors to clearly indiciate on a winner. As to the burn in, FiiO recommends to give at least 150h of play in. My set opened up nicely after 70h of playing.

Got hands on mine today too. Straight out of box I like it more than preceding unit m3s. Now it's time to leave it for few days and nights for proper burn in but I presume I can't expect drastic changes to happen after first 40h of baking.

@vodanhkhack I used to be in possession of Shanling M1, iBasso DX150 and I moved on to stick to M3s.

We all hope that M5s will live up to all hype going around! Some of us, humbly including myself, made an order and can't wait to put our hands on this player so any feedback from existing users are always welcomed. Especially the positive one, lol!

I am sure there are people who also find these aspects useful, however I use DAP more as a stationary unit and portability goes onto second plan. Being at comparsion between M3s and DX150 I found iBasso unit as superior taking lead only by tiny bit in terms of SQ so I hope M5s will be maybe not...

I think that given the pricetag on M5s the biggest competitior here would be DX150. They share similar sound signature it seems (warm, smooth) and on the top of that you can swap amps on iBasso DAP, so personally I am waiting for comparsion between those two.
