New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
Lovin’ all the impressions and experiences of everybody! I noticed two things: - the passive mode is decent. I like it. It really reacts very well to different sources. I tried the BTR15, DX320 and straight out of macbook. It does take quite some juice and reflects the character of the source...- ricthaman

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
Just got my pair in. Will not comment on SQ yet as it's just been an hour or so, and I have a cold so my ears might be tricking me hehe. But I did notice 2 things: - The voice prompt sounds a bit grainy. Anybody else experience this? - Used them passively on my DX320/amp13 and must say they are...- ricthaman

DX320 ROHM dac chips, Android 11, AMP11MK2s. *******NEW FW: 2.07*******
On a completely different note, just to share: listening to some old school 70's & 80's rock (Thin Lizzy studio sessions amongst others) with an Ultrasone Pro900i and the DX320 with AMP13. It is such a rewarding experience and provides a totally different perspective of 'Audiophile': even...- ricthaman

Do you have any first impressions vs. the M17 perhaps? I'm in the exact same situation as you (contemplating a switch from M17 to Kann Ultra).- ricthaman

I have the APP2, and am holding out for the Gemini 2. It looks like they will be released in September, so that might be an interesting comparison to the APP2. Anoybody else looking forward to the Gemini 2?- ricthaman

[FiiO M17] Dual ES9038PRO, dual THXAAA-788+, dual power supplies, 9200mAh battery, 2 volume control modes
I would love the iPhone decoding in USB DAC mode that the M15S and the M11S received. And I really miss some sort of system wide EQ/PEQ on the M17: that would make it absolutely perfect! I use it a lot on my BTR7, and really miss being able to apply EQ to any app on my M17! I know the Q7 has...- ricthaman

Focal Bathys Hi-Fi Bluetooth & ANC Headphones: Early Impressions
I've been on the new FW now for a few days, and have been listening to them a lot. Previously, I missed some excitement in the otherwise excellent sound signature of the Bathys and that's why I was tempted to try the PX8. PX8 did provide the excitement, but the rest of the signature just sounded...- ricthaman

Focal Bathys Hi-Fi Bluetooth & ANC Headphones: Early Impressions
So quick question here: I moved back to Bathys from a short stint on the PX8, and I've noticed 2 things: - This version of the Bathys has had some kind of in-life update as the case now contains pads to rest the earcups around (wasn't present on my earlier version) - I was immediately prompted...- ricthaman

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion
Thanks for your input, I think we're on the same page :) I wonder, apart from the marketing mumbojumbo, whether having a seperate DAC chip has advantages? Perhaps it is easier to implement it better or tweak the paramaters as opposed to the SoC DAC? And yes, the build quality could be a tad...- ricthaman

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion
Well, that is not necessarily true (unless you have info to confirm this). As from FCC pictures it seems PX8 is using QCC5127 which has a built-in DAC on the Qualcomm SoC. This could be the DAC they’re using. Naturally, there could also be an external DAC on the board that is fed buy the...- ricthaman
