Cayin iDAP-6 - versatile new desktop transport
IDAP6 is useful to connect directly in i2s with dacs have this input, like Terminator or Pontus. I am not sure that Pontus have i2s pinout like PS Audio mode but I am sure that Terminator have i2s input in Gustard mode, that is different from PS Audio mode.- krell1967

Hi PitBul34, I read that IDAP6 has i2s pinout in PS Audio mode, Pontus should have i2s pinout in Gustard mode like Terminator or do I miss something?- krell1967

Denafrips Dac Line Comparisons Thread.
Have you ever had the inclusion of a new component in your system literally upset any of your certainty that, until then, had you laboriously realized? And I do not mean differences that are comparable to nuances, difficult to perceive situations, but rather to a very marked difference, in all...- krell1967

DENAFRIPS Terminator: the King of R2R dac
First, power supply, in Terminator is bigger and more refined. Second, digital input, in Terminator we have more digital input, for example three i2s input against only one of Venus. Third, better components, caps, resistors and so on.- krell1967

DENAFRIPS Terminator: the King of R2R dac
The next day I was a guest of my old audiophile friend, his room resembles a shop for how many components are present. This time the challenge was towards the Cary Audio DMC600 SE, even here the Terminator has shown better qualities in terms of soundstage and detail. For information, Cary costs...- krell1967

I compared Holo Spring level 1 with Ares some times ago, very similar in many features. Consider that Pontus goes much better than Ares, you have the consequences. Now I have his majesty Terminator.- krell1967

Just a little, you must short the Pin 43 and 3.3VCC on dsp card, so Amanero firmware will be erased. Then you update the new firmware from Amanero website through a tool called oemtool117. Version firmware is 1099c. In this way your dac well be capable to play DSD256 on Linux systems- krell1967

So guys, sorry I'm late to answer, but I was very busy. Just to understand on what size we are moving, the Terminator out of the box sounds like an Ares, all multiplied by 3 or 4 times, very very impressive. Refinement and retail levels by fear, reference Mark Levinson 390S ..... Stay tuned :)- krell1967
