It has NOTHING to do with the chip number... it is all about the implementation and the architecture around the chip, voltage , current , the righ path and the software!! I have here another DAP/DAC that use the same chip and it sounds even close to my Mosaic UV R2R and way batter than ANY DAP.

I just read in our local forum that a guy had a similar problem... and he put his DAP in a microwave for 15 second max heat and it solved the problem !! He stopped hearing any interferance .... well maybe he stop hear anything at all :):)

That is quite strange... the RF noise that you are picking. I dont have such a problem at all. Fisrt - do RF check to all your surrounding, maybe you have interfearance from othe rdevices. Second - chaeck if it is not your cable (IEM or HP) that picking than noise? Third - check your Phone SAR...

yes exactly. But try to cut the botom of the bore . i marked it in red in hte picture - this will push the tip more down to the body of the KSE so the seal (body + tip) will be better in the ear.

What is the amp near the PL? If you still have the Calyx - can yo try and adjust the PL EQ to be similar? I did a short comparison SE on the Calyx and Balanced on the PL - the stage is quite close ( from a very short comparison so i say this carefully). So the idea is if it possible to match...

NIce :) this MOD is good for big year holes, mine are very small :) I also took the Yellow foam and cut only the foam and put it in the silicon sleeve - betwin the bore and the side, this got better seal and sound isolation. Sory - no pics , did it 3 years ago.

Calyx M with my KSE1500 - just got the calyx today - perfect match !!! ... everything sound good with the Calyx thou.. :):) The Extra Stage that Calyx add is ....speachless, and with the KSE it is the PERFECT sound ever.

without digging into the specs of each product... midnight here... i think that the KSA is behaving as IEM in terms of impendence and sensetivity and maybe hte SP1000 amp is designed for high Ohm HP, this is why you pick up hiss (noise). I think there is no need to use the amp unit with the KSE.

Well .. i did some microwave burn-in to the player...:ksc75smile: it enhance the presets... My go-to IEM for testing is the KSE1500 - can't miss the diferences here.

Well .. this is not COWON thred... but the L is fantastic and way better than SE100, great holographic stage and relaxed sound. Had 3 hours yesterday testing the Flare PRO 2HD until i figured out the EQ for the IEMs - perfect now :)

a thought just came across ... that i never tested the KSE with my Cowon PL... AK DAPs have wide stahe but front is very close, on the other hand Cowon has deep fron stage and litle less wide and i think that KSE will benefit much from it. Will test it at night and tell.

agree, i have the SE100 and i love it relaxed and "Musical" presentaion - this is what folks love about AK, you should try the KSE with some R2R DAC .....wow! Tell me, do i see silver in the 3.5mm cable?

Well.... I think that you will have to replace your ears then :):) Try the Comply tips, But it would be preffered if peaplr here would say how big is their ear canal is - like I have a problem with big IEMs it is probably that people with big canal cant get a good seal with the Shures.
