First contact with my new Sony NW-ZX707 Japanese version. First with Sony MDR-1AM2 and balanced output. Awesome. It already was with the ZX300 and the latest MrWalkman firmware. But this is superior. The surprise is being with the Focal Elegia (with the Dekoni Elite Sheepskin pads, of course)...

Almost three years with that combo and I would say it borders on perfection.

Sorry, @jfunk, but after several days, the cable is giving problems in the left connector, both with the Focal and with the Sony. Sometimes I have to disconnect and connect 2 or 3 times for it to sound correctly balanced. Where should I write to fix it? Thanks :frowning2:

I knew it :-( Since @iFi audio told me that it came with v5.3c installed and I saw v1.23 I knew that something was not right. On repeated firmware installs it would show me 48 khz and switch to bluetooth input. And without knowing too much, problems with noise and lack of power may be related...

Now I don't understand why I have v1.23 (having installed and reinstalled 5.3C) and you have v1.25. Help, @iFi audio.

If they were balanced and could be connected to the ZX300's 4.4mm output you could say that it can drive them. I had the AKG K712 Pro, with the same impedance and sensitivity as the Q701 and I have the ZX300 ... and although any DAP can get a high volume out of it, these headphones need more...

Thanks! I have read that perhaps it is an amplifier too powerful for sensitive headphones and when the volumen control is less than 9 o'clock an imbalance may appear. Does this happen with the Elear in low gain?

With the iPurifier2 connected to the Micro iUSB 2.0, I think I have noticed an almost imperceptible improvement in the definition through the Focal Elear. Or it is purely psychological. Therefore it could be said that, through the headphone jack, there is no difference.
