Monster Turbine Appreciation Thread
Another happy customer here! I am actually shocked at how much they have changed over the course of a week. They are not fart cannons anymore! Compared to my K81DJ they offer better low end detail, although the bass is more pronounced. I am using the small olives that came with them and look...- jwilldermood

AKG Customer Service...
Update! Without even knowing it AKG charged my card for my order in April and I received my velour pads this week. It only took eight months but they are sure nice. I don't find much difference, if any, in the sound and they are so much more comfortable. They are deeper than the stock pads so my...- jwilldermood

Is listening to Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music thru headphones safe?
I think listening to "Heavy Metal" with headphones is dangerous because you might unintentionally summon a demon from hell. Then what are you going to do?- jwilldermood

You can only use link once but with no DRM you should be able to move it freely from computer to computer. The album kicks ass BTW.- jwilldermood

New Radiohead On October 10th
I got my second email about two hours after writing them back about my problems. I am listening now. Sounds good so far. Can't wait for the vinyl. I feel like I've been tapped though paying $80+ for a lossy download. I am going to try and not listen too much over the next two months so I will...- jwilldermood

I wonder if there is a correlation between the decline in mid-fi and the decline of the economy/middle class.- jwilldermood

Dual 1219 Turntable
I have a headshell for a Dual TT. I can't remember which model. I remember the handle pulled back and released the headshell. If it fits yours you can have it for shipping. Then you could have a cart for 33rpm and one for 78rpm I'll see if I can find it, let me know.- jwilldermood

Respectable Stereo Tuner Amp?
Paradigm makes some great bookshelves that should be reasonable in Canada. X2 on the stands. Have you looked at an Anthem TLP-1? They have been going for very reasonable prices on Audiogon.- jwilldermood

Need a closed headphone
Buy.com has them for less although I would go with TTVJ or Headroom. If you don't like them they both have generous return policies and the price is only a few dollars more. BTW, another vote for the K271S here.- jwilldermood

I love thrift stores...
The Sansui doesn't work right. The volume doesn't work. It has buttons for the volume. Does anyone know if it has a motorized pot inside. I am going to have to open it up! The Sony doesn't have a scratch and works perfectly. I wonder if one of the big boxes donated it because it didn't have...- jwilldermood

I love thrift stores...
I went to a couple of thrift stores today and walked out with a Sony SCD-CE595 for $14 and a Sansui R-7 receiver for $7. The Sony works perfectly although it has no remote. It still has the shiny SACD sticker in the front. I will fire up the Sansui tonight after I get out my fire extinguisher...- jwilldermood

Whats the Best Turntable I Can Get for Under $700
I would go used. You could get a Rega P3 for under $700 with cart. If you want new I like the Rega P2-$495 w/o cart. The Music Hall MMF-5 is nice for $629 with cart. BTW, there is a Nottingham Horizon on Audiogon for $850.- jwilldermood
