Amp for HD 6XX to Eliminate the Bloated Mid-bass
Thanks a lot for the tips! I believe the HD 6XX has the same sound signature as the HD 650, which sounds different than the HD 600 you are used to. From what I've read, HD 600s are generally considered more neutral than HD 650s and the HD 650 does have boosted bass. Also, note that the 32Ω...- pcg33k

Amp for HD 6XX to Eliminate the Bloated Mid-bass
That's what I thought. I agreed the FR of DACs and Amps should be totally flat. I raised the question because I've seen some people on the Internet said the muddy mid-bass is caused by an under-powered amp such as driving the headphones directly from a computer motherboard. I am skeptical of...- pcg33k

Amp for HD 6XX to Eliminate the Bloated Mid-bass
Hi, I switched from the 32Ω Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro to the Sennheiser HD 6XX because I can't stand the sibilance and the high frequency peaks produced by it. The DT 770 Pro's mids are recessed but it is bearable when compared to its highs. Its mid-bass and sub-bass are perfectly fine for me...- pcg33k

Please recommend headphones or IEMs for blocking low frequency noise
Mine is the DT-770 Pro 32ohm version, I am using it without an amp. I agree, the sibilance and highs are way too much, a burn-in might decrease them slightly but not eliminate them. For example, the alarm clock effect in the beginning of "Time" by Pink Floyd is ear piercing... Do you have any...- pcg33k

Please recommend headphones or IEMs for blocking low frequency noise
Got the DT770 Pro 32Ω (not the M version), to my surprise the isolation is good enough, and it is comfortable. The bass amount is right for me, not too strong as some has mentioned in the forum. However, like you said, the highs are so prominent and the sibilance is way too strong... I will...- pcg33k

Thanks! I will look into them. DT770-M seems to be good. For M50x and M100, those sound a bit V-shaped according to the reviews. The genre I listen to is mostly Classic Rock.- pcg33k

Please recommend headphones or IEMs for blocking low frequency noise
Besides IEMs, is there any recommendation on over-ear headphones with good sound isolations (passive, not ANC)? Perhaps something like Sennheiser HD 380 PRO? Thanks!- pcg33k

Please recommend headphones or IEMs for blocking low frequency noise
Thanks a lot! Do you have experience how well is the sound isolation of the SE215 compared to the 3M 1100 or any other regular foam earplugs? I will try the original tips first, and switch to the Comply tips if the isolation is not perfect.- pcg33k

Please recommend headphones or IEMs for blocking low frequency noise
Under $200, around $100 if possible It doesn't have to be "audiophile" grade, since the main reason for this purchase is to block sound. But I do prefer natural sounding cans or IEMs for playing lossless and a bit Hi-Res music. Thanks!- pcg33k

Please recommend headphones or IEMs for blocking low frequency noise
Hi! I have a new neighbor upstairs moved in recently, and they are running their washing machine several loads a day, the low frequency noise emitted by the washer and dryer is driving me crazy. Unfortunately, none of my closed-back headphones are able to block out the low frequency noise...- pcg33k
