Silver Schiit Modi 3+ DAC for sale. Second owner, unit is B-Stock (has a scratch on bottom, only cosmetic issue that I can see). The original OEM power brick was not included, so I have included a Samsung USB power brick as substitute, which is even better quality than the cheap non-brand OEM...- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
You can just use a regular single ended cable with the balanced Argons if you want. There's no reason not to get them balanced.- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
I can make you a balanced cable for the Argon. PM me and we can talk about price and I can show you what I make. It definitely won't cost as much as a periapt, I can tell you that.- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
No, you need an adapter that plugs into the balanced output, with a female connector to accept your 1/4 headphone cable. That would rule out the balanced connection being the issue. You are using the single ended output, which we have already ruled out is not the problem.- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Get a balanced to female TRS adapter and see if this happens if you plug the single ended cable into the balanced out. Could be a faulty cable, but also may be unrelated. What DAC are you using?- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
I'm gonna ask this again, since nobody replied the first time: Has anyone actually heard from Ryan in the past month? I have emailed him at two addresses, and reached out on Twitter. I know the man may be busy, but I'm seriously concerned he's perhaps abandoned business altogether. If anyone has...- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
You have the old model T20v2 Argons, correct? I think those and the T60 Argons are technically the only ones that sound "different," but even then those may not be that much different at all. I'm getting a pair of T20v2 Argons sent my way, and I'm also trying to reach Ryan to get some T50rp mk2s...- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
From my understanding, all the Argons are the exact same. They are semi-open (or should I say semi-closed?). The differences between models from the same generation do not make a difference in the end, because Ryan mods them to be exactly to his spec. Therefore, if the T40rp are a closed model...- spiritofjerry

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Has anyone been in touch with Ryan from Modhouse? I am looking to send him a pair of T50rp MK2 to mod for me into the original Argons. I know he's probably swamped, and people do say he takes a while to respond to emails, but I'm a bit worried about him since the news of the passing of his...- spiritofjerry

TOSLINK from HDTV resampled to 48 khz ?
Yes, it does. I just bought a Vizio TV last year, and I'm hoping this newer model does not resample. -
Absolute best budget earbuds?
Just ordered the Awei ES10 to add to the list of buds to try under $10. I'll update as I receive them with more complete reviews and impressions. As a side note, anyone have suggestions for a cable thin enough to re-cable the MDR-E808+? The cable holes are very thin.- spiritofjerry

Absolute best budget earbuds?
I've been lurking here for some time, finally thought I would reply with my impressions of the sub-$10 category of 'buds Monk+ -- Very neutral mid and highs, lacking bass. Very clear for an earbud, but lacks fullness. SHP3800 -- Warm, great bass, good detail. Accurate mids and rolled-off...- spiritofjerry

Sony MDR-1A - Sony's latest update on the 1R
Hi Louis, You can definitely mod a mic cable to fit. I'd just chop off the TRS end and mod with the connector I suggested. The connector you linked looks like it would also fit the socket, in case you wanted to do balanced. I cannot answer your question about TRRS configuration, as I do not...- spiritofjerry
