recommendation on full size Amp for Headphones & IEMs
I emailed Audio-GD directly and asked them what model they would recommend for the Campfire Audio Andromeda IEMs and they replied that their headphone amps are not suited for IEMs because they are all high gain.- nhasian

recommendation on full size Amp for Headphones & IEMs
I've read a lot of good things about Audio-GD and would jump on it if I only used my Sennheiser headphones. Although the output impedance of the NFB-11.28 is a respectable 2 Ω, the Campfire Audio Andromedia IEMs are very sensitive and it would change the frequency response of the earphones...- nhasian

recommendation on full size Amp for Headphones & IEMs
Hello, I have the Sennheiser HD650 (300 Ω impedance), the Campfire Audio Andromeda (12.8 Ω @ 1kHz Impedance) and the Aurisonics ASG 2.5 (41 Ω). I'm looking for a full-size headphone amp for my computer that is powerful enough for the HD650 yet sensitive enough for the Andromeda IEMs. It does...- nhasian

So I picked up a used FiiO A5 in preparation for the X5-III. Unfortunately, the seller had lost the bands I'll have to see if they make a new stacking kit for the X5-III. Quote:- nhasian

FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.
Is the FiiO Q5 still on track to be released in April/May? If so, how does it compare to the X5-III?- nhasian

Fiio X5 3rd gen || 2x AKM 4490 || Balanced Out || DSD || DXD | DTS | Android || Dual Card Slot
Yes that would be great thanks! I'm a basshead with both a Campfire Audio Andromeda and an Aurisonics ASG 2.5 and I was specifically concerned that it would kill my low end if I used that 3ohm balanced connection.- nhasian

I saw from the spec sheet that the balanced connection is 3 ohm. That will negatively affect most IEMs that were designed to work with lower <1 ohm output impedance. If I do decide to go with the FiiO X5-III then I'll just avoid the balanced connector altogether.- nhasian

I suspect NAS would be superior file transfer speeds, but Twonky is simply a DLNA server, so any DLNA client would be able to playback the audio. As long as there is no transcoding done then the quality will remain intact.- nhasian

I don't know what AMP3 is, but being able to stack two 10% coupons sounds good to me. What's the URL? I see B&H and Adorama both have the FiiO X5-III available for preorder. Any coupons available for these sites?- nhasian

What's a Good Value Upgrade from the O2?
The JDS Labs Element is only a USB Audio class 1 device. I would avoid it. http://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.com/KB/USB.html Schiit's JOTUNHEIM is a bit more expensive but much more powerful and would drive the HD800S much better. especially with the balanced outputs. I think Audio...- nhasian

Anyone have experience with Sennheiser HD 650?
That's like asking if anyone here speaks English. They are awesome headphones. They are a little warmer sounding than the HD600s and they scale extremely well with a good amp. Especially tube amps. That's a great price too. Take good care of them and you will enjoy them for a long time. Quote:- nhasian
