    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Hi, it may have been a case of the Digital Filter being set to SHARP or Short, I find that if it is set to Slow the sound is much more appealing.   cheers Neil

Agreed ... but you can test it by turning on the equaliser and changing some range - you will notice no difference, however once you turn on 'DSP' the equaliser will kick in.

Hi all   I decided not to root this unit - **** scared basically. I was wondering if anyone can recommend an app to turn the screen on without having to press the power button. I have tried 'Volume screen lock' but it uses too much battery power. Appreciate any feedback.   cheers

Had mine for a month only use the 3.5mm jack and no issues. With the battery I just turn off all non relevant apps and google stuff and battery is acceptable - but you will go through it if you are upscaling .. thus the reason i want to root the device.

Alternatively when you are in the 'Library ' view where you see categories such as Artist, Songs, etc - you can touch the three dots at the end of the song which will also allow you to add artist, album or song to a playlist depending on which view you are looking at.

I do exactly just that - connect the dp-x1 to my computer and use it as a drive and open each folder and drag and drop files in ... the n I create the playlist on the dp-x1 which is slow but usuable unless you have 10000 songs
