Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

You are about to go full hero. I've been thinking of ways too make my 1060's more like my Fostex T-X0 in comfort on top of the head. One suggestion, ditch the protruding hardware on the strap mount. Some of us have wide heads and have trouble buying hats *cough cough*. Maybe three recessed...

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Assembled my 3d printer yesterday. Prints three and four were relevant. Tiny bit of cleanup needed on the inner corners of the fazors but that was about it.

    Gustard X20 DAC

Well my noise issue persists. Maybe one of the experts or those understanding better can help. When I first play a DSD file after having listened to PCM both speakers play the music softly but there is a loud static-y hiss with a high frequency sine wave in the background. If I continue...

    Gustard X20 DAC

Ah, sort of like this? Quick question for @Quadman : What method did you use to remove the coax tower? I'm thinking heat gun but if there is a better desoldering method I am all ears. Since getting the Singxer I just threw the DIYinHK board away. That thing was terribly unstable. The...

    Gustard X20 DAC

Well, toslink cable ordered, so I guess I'm truly following in Simon's footsteps.  In other news, I found an interesting Abracon clock.   http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ABRACON/AOCJY1-100000MHz/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsC2cQJVRBSBUVTnCXPHX6IDcln7PotGtA%3d   Pinouts match up, voltage matches up...

    Gustard X20 DAC

Okay 256 is up and running, but only in HQPlayer for some reason.  I think DSD in JRiver might be bugged.  Somehow 256 in JRiver only uses 8% CPU (i7 6770k, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200MHz).  512 is still elusive.    I do NEED PCM for skype meetings, youtube, amazon video, etc.  Maybe the way to go is to...

    Gustard X20 DAC

It can handle DSD128 but 256 is where it all falls apart.  The Gustard locks on to the 256 and 512 signal but listenable sound just isn't there.  I'm seriously thinking it's the I2S lines since the audiophonics provided jumper cables are about 8" long and the cards, for now, are sitting directly...

    Gustard X20 DAC

Okay!  It's all up and.... sort of working.  I put a fan on the 5v line of the power supply blowing on it and sound comes through.   However, DSD in all formats sounds awful.  The DAC locks into all DSD modes but it's..... bad.  I think my I2S lines to the audiophonics board are too long.  I...

    Gustard X20 DAC

If the dac were only for music, I would definitely go the internal route you did.  Unfortunately, the Gustard will be my primary converter for all my PC audio from my main workstation (SMSL M8 will now go to my HTPC which, ironically, has the nicer speakers.  I need both PCM for system volume as...

    Gustard X20 DAC

Quadman, a question I didn't see answered on another forum nor here:  With the DIYINHK board, does PCM and DSD work properly?  I have the board as well and my Gustard arrives today (non USB, snagged for $640) but the pinouts provided earlier in the thread suggest that through I2S HDMI that...
