Question about Schiit DACs
I need some advice. As someone who doesn't use FLACs or files that differ in sample rates (I only use Spotify Premium), would it even be worth it to go with the Bifrost multibit or should I just get the regular 4490 version? I'm planning on getting a Jotunheim to go along with it, and pairing...- WutDaFunk

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
That's refreshing to hear! It's just, of the few impressions/comparisons I've read, people commented on a "full-bodied" low end. That was giving me the impression that the Mimby is warm, but I guess it could also mean the lows are just right where they should be?- WutDaFunk

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
What's the general consensus regarding the Mimby's sound signature? I've been looking at possible end game setups to pair with the ZMF Atticus, and I've been thinking about getting the Mimby to pair with the Jotunheim. The Atticus is a very warm headphone, so I want a DAC that isn't warm as...- WutDaFunk

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
If I were to buy a Modi 2 Multibit to pair with the Jotunheim, would I still be able to use the balanced output with my headphones? What is the point of the Jotunheim's DAC module having 2 DAC chips instead of the Multibit's 1? I'm guessing I just have to plug the Multibit into the Jotunheim's...- WutDaFunk

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Does anyone know how the Atticus pairs with the Jotunheim and it's AKM 4490 DAC? I'm looking for a DAC/amp combo that pairs well with the Atticus, but I don't want to spend more than 500 dollars on the DAC/amp combo. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know!- WutDaFunk

If it's underpowered, I can just feed my DFR into a separate amp. I'm just wondering if the DAC portion will pair well with the Atticus.- WutDaFunk

The black is definitely warmer than the red. Very curious about that pairing, because I've read reviews saying the Atticus is already a warm headphone.- WutDaFunk

Has anyone tried pairing the Atticus with the Dragonfly Red? Is the bright sound of the DFR a good pairing?- WutDaFunk

The DFR can apparently drive HD600's too. Is the 701 really that much harder to drive? I don't think so...- WutDaFunk

I have both the red and black. The black is definitely the warmer of the two. To me, the red makes the bass tighter and more refined.- WutDaFunk

Thank you for the response. It is quite interesting that you can't get it to fit correctly. None of the reviews I've read or watched had that big of an issue with the fit. I know everyone has different ears, but do you by chance have smaller ears than average? And have you tried other tips with...- WutDaFunk

I used to own the Shure SE215 but had to return it after one day because I couldn't get it to fit into my ears correctly. It felt like it could not go deep enough into my ears for a secure fit. I don't know this is because the tips were not angled enough or if the shape of the unit itself was...- WutDaFunk

OnePlus Icons - Revews, Pics and Impressions Thread
I was using some comply T – 200 medium ear tips on these icons for quite a while now but they recently just cracked and pretty much disintegrated. Even though I did like the sound of those ear tips, I'm not a fan of the comply tips themselves in terms of quality control and durability. So now...- WutDaFunk

For the past year, every time I want to listen to music on my home theater setup I would just use the line out from my dragonfly connected to my computer and plug it into the AUX port on the front of my receiver. I emailed this to AudioQuest. Here's their response: Dear Sir, Yes, you’re right. Dragonfly Black’s analog volume control uses non-linear “steps” which are not consistent 1dB intervals. Dragonfly Red uses all 1dB steps in its digital volume control. It’s the fact that Dragonfly...- WutDaFunk

I am using Windows and I have what seems to be the same problem. As I said in a previous post, the volume is REALLY loud on the black version, so loud that I have to turn down to about 4% compared to 20% on my red.- WutDaFunk
