    Breathable headphones

I'm trying to figure out what makes HE-5XX, Ananda, or Grado GS more breathable than other open-back headphones. It's not clear from looking at their pictures.

    Breathable headphones

ATH-AD900X appear to have see-through earcups

    Breathable headphones

I am looking for breathable over-ear headphones. So far, I found: 1. Sony MA900 has hole in earcup 2. Sennheiser HD700 or HD800 series in addition to open back volume has open front volume - metal mesh in front of the driver 3. VIE SHAIR has open earcups 4. AKG K1000, MYSPHERE 3 5. Maybe...

    Best ventilated (most open) headphones

How easy is it to drive ATH-R70X? The impedance is 470 ohms.

    Best ventilated (most open) headphones

I am looking for headphones with the best ventilation to keep my ears cool. Ideally they should also be able to be driven from a portable amplifier, like FiiO BTR5. I would also like them to respond well to EQ, so that I can increase the bass response. Sony MDR-MA900 seem great, but it is...

    True wireless on-ear headphones?

You can also connect 2-pin or MMCX headphones to FiiO UTWS1. Perhaps modding Koss headphones to connect them is an option. If you can compromise on true wireless, then consider Koss KSC35 Wireless or Koss BT221i.

Ventilation on Philips Fidelio X1 vs X2

I don't have any of the Philips Fidelio headphones at the moment. I am deciding which ones to get.

    True wireless on-ear headphones?

Human Headphones are true wireless, but they cost above £50. I have not listened to them.

Ventilation on Philips Fidelio X1 vs X2

Does Philips Fidelio X1 (or X1s) have better ventilation than X2 (or X2HR)? I would like to prevent my ears from getting hot while listening for hours, so I would like to pick the more breathable headphone.

Balanced cable for Philips Fidelio X2HR or X1s

Would the following cable really make Philips Fidelio X2HR or X1s work with a balanced amplifier? The product does have good reviews. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000316198773.html I think that in order for it to work, each of the drivers has to take the ground signal from two different...

Over-the-ear headphones which keep ears cool

It's awesome to see this thread going for a few years! Thanks for the recommendations! I think I should also consider headphones that are both open front and back to get the most ventilation, such as HD 800, as described here...

    Philips Fidelio X3

Is the Fidelio X3 casing in front of the driver also open? An example of an open front headphone is Sennheiser HD 800, as described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/6sqrys/what_exactly_are_semiopen_headphones/

The Hi-Fi + Hi-Res Audiophiles' Bluetooth Headphone Adapter Thread - [17.Oct.21] iFi GO Blu impression added

I hope this is not too off-topic. So, headphones, such as RHA T20i, which are marketed for Apple devices, should have CTIA-compatible controls (rather than OMTP) and should work with FiiO BTR5?

The Hi-Fi + Hi-Res Audiophiles' Bluetooth Headphone Adapter Thread - [17.Oct.21] iFi GO Blu impression added

Does the FiiO BTR5 support line-in controls on headphones for Apple devices (both as Bluetooth and USB DAC)? I am referring to the ones that use OMTP, rather than CTIA (reference: https://mashtips.com/apple-headphone-on-android-or-windows/ )

The Hi-Fi + Hi-Res Audiophiles' Bluetooth Headphone Adapter Thread - [17.Oct.21] iFi GO Blu impression added

Is using the equalizer or various DSP settings directly on the Bluetooth adapter superior in any way to using them on the device, which is playing the audio, such as smartphone or a desktop computer? Perhaps, the lack of equalizer support for LDAC on the FiiO BTR5 is not much of an issue, given...

RHA T20 works with balanced cable?

I am interested in connecting the RHA T20 Wireless (they won't be working wirelessly here) through the MMCX connector to a balanced cable, plugged into a balanced amp. The cable can be RHA's own 2.5mm Aux Silver Ag4x Cable, for example. Would this work? I am interested in this because, some...

Over-the-ear headphones which keep ears cool

OK, so playing low frequencies loud requires lots of power and thus produces lots of heat.  Open headphones seem like a double edged sword.  Although open-back increases ventilation, it also requires more power/heat due to sound leakage.

Over-the-ear headphones which keep ears cool

Thanks for the detailed explanation.  It sounds like I will have to compromise.  Looks like I can either have lots of bass or an open headphone, but not both.  I can get a portable amp to deal with Bluetooth dongle not having enough power.

Over-the-ear headphones which keep ears cool

I don't specifically need open-back.  I need whatever will keep ears cooler.  Does a BT dongle not have enough power to drive a bassy over-ear headphone?    dt1770 might work, due to velour pads.  I'll need a 3-pin to 3.5mm adapter to connect the dongle.   I've read fidelio x2 and HIFIMAN...

Over-the-ear headphones which keep ears cool

And what should I get if I'm able to raise my budget?  I also need the removable cable to be on one side, so I can connect a bluetooth dongle.  Thanks for the suggestions!

Over-the-ear headphones which keep ears cool

Budget under $600. I also really want bass. I'm fine with open-back, but is there any way to cool my ears other than open-back?

Over-the-ear headphones which keep ears cool

I am looking for over-the-ear headphones which will make my ears the least hot and sweaty.  I'm guessing that open-back headphones might let more air in, helping with heat and sweat.

    Recommend Wireless Headphones

Looking for wireless over-the-ear headphones which are good for music, have strong bass, and large ear pads.  Please help me chose.  Considering Sennheiser RS 175, Logitech G933, Sony MDRXB950BT.  I'm also considering getting headphones with a removable cord and plugging in a Bluetooth dongle.
