Exactly the same issue for me with the velour pads. Fortunately I'm still under warranty so I ordered a replacement pair. You could try sewing them together. It should work fine seeing how it's just cloth anyways.

Seems like a toss up with the squeaking. Maybe they fixed it in later production batches, especially now that the HD 7 DJ are discontinued, but still feels like a risky investment given the price. You can look earlier in the thread and users with the HD 8 also report the squeaking.

Is there any advantage or sound variation when pairing the X3ii with the Q1? Seems like listening from the Q1 would be a downgrade from the regular X3 judging entirely from the specs. 

Mine happens on both earcups. The sound is coming from the hinges with the blue dot. The squeaking stops when I blow a little on the blue dot, so it seems like a lubrication issue perhaps? it goes away but comes back soon anyways.

Anyone got a DIY fix for the squeaking sound? my HD 7 DJ squeak when moving the earcups horizontally. It's a shame none of the reviews mentioned this issue, as it would have been a deal breaker for me. Can anyone confirm that the problem gets worse overtime? should I be concerned?
