Comment by 'bigkef' on listing 'HE6 se v1 Pristine'
XLR to 1/4 is already an upgrade from the original, paper thin factory cable. The male XLR to 4 Pin is another upgrade of super high quality occ copper. It is made for speaker amp use. I can sell or keep for my next Hifiman which will be the Susvara.- bigkef

It's XLR to 1/4 inch jack. Dyson OCC cable is just over 7 feet. I also have a custom XLR to 4 Pin balanced for speaker amp use available for additional charge of $100. Total cable length is over 9 feet to reach the speaker terminals on a speaker amp.- bigkef

Like new pair of Hifiman HE6SE v1 with upgraded 100% OCC Copper cable from Dyson Audio. Only 2 hours use. Just don't have the time... Since these are generally best using a speaker amp, I also have an XLR 4 pin balance termination available for additional charge. Sound FANTASTIC on...- bigkef

Hifiman HE6-SE
Thanks for your reply. -I agree with you that Hifiman will stop repairing "old" HE'6's, (to sell more "SE"s) but to think that they "retooled" for a new driver, I believe, is fallacy. I welcome the first guy willing to dissect his $1.8k SE vs an "old" 6 to see if any change the driver...- bigkef

Hifiman HE6-SE
I'm just finding out about this "se" version of the HE-6. Pretty smart of Fang..... I'm sure he had to keep producing the magical drivers for these things just to keep up with the blowouts... I'm thankful because I'm on my 3rd pair. Bravo! Since I'm sure these are the SAME drivers...- bigkef

Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
The EQ is engaged, but not the "LOUD" button.. I think that, while it does give a healthy dose of bass energy, to me it sounds muffled. -Even with the 50 hz EQ gain to the max, bass is far from overdone. Powerful and extremely detailed..- bigkef

Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
Near 0... Only the SLIGHTEST hiss is audible at 90-100% volume... I really can't even get much past 11 o'clock on my head and the volume pot goes to almost to 6 o'clock.. -You would never hear anything but music powering the HE-6 on PM 500.. No concern whatsoever... My PM is relic...- bigkef

Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
Hello Fellow HE'6 ers!! Last night I took delivery of an absolutely MINT Marantz PM500 to drive my HE'6 headphones at the speaker taps... The results were truly impressive... HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Same experience here. I got my replacement pair back from Hifiman, and they sounded really cloudy and "boxed" in once I played them for the first time... It took several days to get anywhere near the sound of the pair that I blew on my vintage speaker amp in early January. -I don't have time...- bigkef

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I am happy to see the the vintage options keep on piling up!!! I have a question. Does the 54watt Sansui have as good bass impact as your old Hitachi 904? Believe it or not I was just about to bid on a 904 on ebay and happened to read this post about the Sansui. I can probably get for...- bigkef

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Lars, There were no symptoms before the failure. Music cut in and out for a second (or less) and then,, silence.. I had volume pot at around 40-45% which was loud but not "fire truck" range, I just getting a "feel" for the sound (which was phenomenal)..- bigkef
