Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
I looked at the red and blue versions on the website and it looks like the bottom of the headband is white leather and the top is a different material (plastic?) that is the matching red or blue color.- sc0y

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I've had the Grado adapter for years, which is similar to the Sennheiser one and it has never failed me. I've had multiple ones like the second one in your link that have caused me problems. I haven't used the Senn one, but I would go with that one or the Grado one since the generally...- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 vs Beyerdynamic DT 1770
Funny. I ended up also picking up the PM-3s and liked them so much I sold the TH-x00s. When I ordered the PM-3s I was planning on keeping both, but I really like the crispness of the planar sound and they just sound more detailed to me. The PM-3 sound signature is more how I'd lean anyway since...- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
I haven't done this myself so I have no idea if this works, but since your phone is already jail broken you could also try this. I could imagine there are several ways this could be a bad idea...- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Mine does and I'm in the US. Not sure with what version of iOS it was introduced or if it's specific to the 6s since I didn't even look until I got the PM-3s, but it's under settings->music->volume limit.- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Be sure to check to make sure the volume limit isn't on in your iPhone's settings. On my iPhone 6s this was on by default. With that cranked up all the way my phone is plenty loud enough for me, but I don't listen super loud.- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Got mine on Thursday and am really happy so far. They're much different than the TH-x00s that I've been listening to, but I definitely now hear the planar speed that everyone is talking about. Also, the midrange on the PM-3s is really impressive (also more forward) compared to the TH-x00s. Less...- sc0y

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I too have been thinking about how to get my hands on extra pads as I also have no comfort issues with the stock pads, but check out the TH-500rp. The pads on those look similar if not the exact same as the TH-x00s so I'm hoping Fostex will be selling replacement pads for those and the TH-x00s...- sc0y

Fostex TH-X00 Amp/DAC under $200?
I too picked up the TH-x00s and am considering dac/amps in a similar price range and am curious what you picked. Right now I'm mainly listening to them out of my receiver and they sound good, but think I could do better.- sc0y

Fostex HP-A4BL (the A4 with balanced output)
TH-800??? Maybe that's part of the motivation behind the TH-x00s -- to get public feedback and further refine their next headphone.- sc0y

Fostex HP-A4BL (the A4 with balanced output)
Anyone have ideas how or when we could get our hands on this in the US? I was thinking about picking up the HP-A4 to pair with the TH-x00s, but this version has some obvious appeal since it's more powerful and the balanced out seem like a nice feature even though I don't currently have a use...- sc0y

What Amp/ DAC you will take with Fostex TH-X00?
Has anyone thought about pairing these with one of the Fostex dacs/amps like the HP-A8C or HP-A4?- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
I realize this will seem obvious to most everyone, but make sure to check the connection at the ear cup. It's the smaller jack that goes into the ear cup and the larger one into your amp/phone. Also, you have to push the smaller side into the ear cup kind of hard until you hear it click. I...- sc0y

Meze 99 Classics USA/Canada Tour - Reviewers Wanted
@nmathies, it's funny you say that because that was exactly my experience. I went to a dealer to try out the PM-3s, there was some weird mishap with the cables not really being connected correctly so I had a bad initial impression of the PM-3s. In the meantime, I was listening to the PM-2s and...- sc0y

Meze 99 Classics USA/Canada Tour - Reviewers Wanted
Recently purchased the TH-x00s which I love and will be keeping, but these look awesome. I'm not sure how I feel about taking the TH-x00s to work just because they are so big and do leak some sound so I've been considering the PM-3s, but I think I might have to give these a try in addition. They...- sc0y

What Amp/ DAC you will take with Fostex TH-X00?
I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on the Schiit MMU stack compared to the m9xx. Is the m9xx worth $200 more if I don't care about portability? I was reading a review comparing different dac/amps and it suggested the Schiit MMU stack really opened up the sound stage more than others and also...- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
This is exactly my dilemma. I bought the TH-x00 intending to lug it back and forth between home and work everyday and it's just not going to happen. The PM-2s would actually be way more portable (not sure if they would isolate more or less, but it'd be in the same ballpark). I thought if I...- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
I got the TH-x00s on Thursday, but was close to getting the PM-3s. My main purpose for getting new headphones is for work since I use my IEMs at work currently and would prefer headphones there. I listened to the PM-3s at a dealer and liked them a lot. They would definitely be easier to lug...- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 vs Beyerdynamic DT 1770
I ended up going for the Fostex TH-x00. It just seemed like too good of a deal to pass up and if I don't like them I can probably trade them for Oppos or something else. Now I feel like I should get some sort of portable amp/DAC combo to do them justice.- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 vs Beyerdynamic DT 1770
I went to a local store to try out the PM-3'd and they opened a brand new pair for me. At first they sounded like absolute crap and I couldn't believe anyone could think they sounded good so I showed them to the guys at the store and told them I thought something was wrong with them, but they...- sc0y

Oppo PM-3 vs Beyerdynamic DT 1770
Would someone who has heard both compare the PM-3 and DT 1770? With Amazon's current 20% off deal the two are now only $80 apart. I'm looking for headphones for the office and prefer a fairly neutral sound.- sc0y

Klipsch x7i or x10, Shure se215, Final Audio Heaven ii, or hifiman re-400?
Have you ruled out Westone IEMs? They would have the same issue as the se215 with needing to wrap them behind the ear, but the twisted cable produces almost no cable noise. I have the UM3Xs which you can now get decently cheap compared to what they used to sell for and they have served me well...- sc0y

Looking for closed headphones to complement Westone UM3X and Grado SR 125
I've been lurking on this forum for years, but have just now been compelled to finally post something. I'm looking for closed cans for work that allow little to no noise leakage (I'm OK if I can hear people talking the the background when music isn't playing, etc.), are comfortable since I could...- sc0y
