    Shure Aonic 40 Wireless headphones

I spent some time testing the AONIC 40 and compared it to AONIC 50. It's quite different. AONIC 50, as we all know, has a leaner bass, whereas AONIC 40 is tuned to address the consumer needs for a more fun sound. The result is more prominent bass. The details occurring in the midrange and treble...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Hey! You probably found the video reviews I made! Thanks for checking them out! I wrote a more detailed review on the Creative Outlier Pro, and personally I do not enjoy them as much. Perhaps my aging ears prefer brighter treble tuning, the Outlier Pro is just too dark to enjoy. While the mic is...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Hey ! Here are some close-up pics for your comparison. If I were to EQ the AZ60 to the AZ70 profile, this is what it would roughly look like: 1. AZ70 bass is less boomy. 2. AZ70 solo instruments are more forward (midrange) 3. AZ70 percussions are louder (upper treble). I have described in...

Review by 'musicphotolife' on item 'Technics EAH-AZ60'

Technics was late in the game on the true wireless earbuds, but it came in with a bang. The Technics AZ70 launched in late 2020 has almost everything in the package: active noise cancelling, ambient sound, adjustable EQ, smartphone app. This year, Technics took no chances and followed up with...

Review by 'musicphotolife' on item 'Burson Audio Supreme Sound Opamp V6 Vivid and Classic'

After my last review of the SS V5 Opamps, Burson has sent over some more SS (Supreme Sound) discreet op-amps for my review. Operational amplifiers are specialised amplifiers that have high input impedance, low output impedance, high gain as well as large bandwidth. Op-amps are one of the options...

    Sennheiser IE300 Review & Measurements

Hi, The IE 300 ear tips have mesh inside to prevent dirt to reach into the earbuds. The package also includes a cleaning kit which is a looped wire to dig out anything that are trapped inside.

    Sennheiser IE300 Review & Measurements

I have listened to the IE 300 for a week and thoroughly enjoyed almost every minute of it. Many earphones casually boost their treble to give the impression of "clarity", but the IE 300 treble sounds very polished without harshness and fatigue. It’s like they created a glossy shine on a piece of...

Comment by 'musicphotolife' in item 'Technics EAH-AZ70W'

Hi @dweaver. My unit still sounds similar to my original impressions. The bass is still relatively not as pompous as many other bass-biased TWS, and still love the details, speed, and imaging.

Review by 'musicphotolife' on item 'Technics EAH-AZ70W'

Technics is back in the audio game! Known mostly for their amplifiers and turntables in recent years, Technics spared no expense on the AZ70 to offer an almost complete set of true-wireless features that out-match the incumbents Sony and Sennheiser. Thanks to Panasonic Singapore for sending over...

After completing the review of the Shure Aonic 5, I now move on to provide my detailed impressions on the Aonic 4. This is Shure’s first earphone that uses dual-driver hybrid setup – a balanced armature and a dynamic driver. This combination usually achieves good balance of bass and high...

Hi @Pablovi , yes you can connect to any device which supports USB Audio. I tried on my Pixel 4 XL and it works. The 3.5mm port does not deliver balanced connection, so there is no benefit if you connect to a balanced source.

Months after I received the Burson Playmate and did a thorough review, Burson sent over two pairs of Supreme Sound (SS) V5 discrete opamps to review with the Playmate. By swapping opamps in existing DAC, audio signal is processed differently, resulting in an alteration of the sound quality...

Shure Singapore sent me the Aonic 3,4,5 for my reivew. I started with the Aonic 5, and it took me more than 2 weeks to get the right tuning for me using the sleeves (ear tips) and nozzles. As it is so customizable, I don’t know if my review is a good reflection of what you might experience...
