Yes i have to agree that it's not perfectly flush like the stock cable :/. I assume there aren't many plugs like that around and concessions have to be made ( i did pick the specific Oppo PM3 option).

I understand, it's like wanting a fast, reliable and cheap car, right? Ofcourse there will be a compromise somwhere. In that sense the ZMF mentioned above, being ported, might be a good way to go.

I've never heard anything from the ZMF for myself but they look nice. Hard to find a dealer here though for testing. Many of them are semi-open so i wonder how they will hold up when i try to use them in the office.

To add, ATC also has an amazing passive lineup (Hifi). Just make sure you get something with their middome tweeter and their SL drivers. They have been known to be one of the best for years. Also the best advice i can give Aways try before you buy. Especially in this price range.

  Matching OPPO gear seems like a good idea. Most of OPPO's stuff is severly overpriced around here though. For example, the  PM3's are 550 euros (~624 dollar). And the Ha-2 seems to be around 400 euro's (~454 dollars).

Bump. Before i open a thread asking for recommendations i'd like to get some more oppinions ^^.

  On head-fi the T5p are described as too bulky and fragile. Also no detacheable cable, which worries me more than the price.   EDIT: Wouldn't something like the Ultrasone Signature Pro or Sony MDR-z7 make more sense? 

  Apperently the Sony xperia's DAC's is above average. So would a Dac/Amp really change that much?     Glad to see i'm not being crazy here. So much praise for the OPPO's, maybe i just expected more. What new headphone would you recommend?
